Beyond: Two Souls. I know I'm the only person who liked it so much, as ciritics and gamers didn't think highly of it. But for me it was the best gaming experience by a mile.

Are you interested in the spiritual and philosophical?

Yup. 40% of my PhD was a philosophical discussion of ethics in certain ancient texts and most of the screenplays that I've written have spiritual elements.
I also find them fascinating topics for discussion with most of my friends.

my thoughts exactly..beautiful game I can't deny that. but other than that all the praise I honestly do not get
I went into this game totally ignoring the multiplayer aspect of the game. I really didn't expect meeting others real players! Great experience indeed.
I really enjoyed it, but found the ending sad as ****.

I don't even find it beautiful, it's too plain and bland looking, I get the 'sometimes less is more' approach but it didn't work for me neither gameplay nor visual wise. I don't get the uhs and ohs for the multiplayer either, people haven't played co-op before? Right I forgot that Sony gamers have no friends, apparently there is truth to that.

Yup, it did, but what I liked the most about it was that it felt real. I've never immersed in a video game as much I did with Beyond. Ellen Page's voice acting was that good. There were also some scenes that was extremely relatable. Not gonna spoil anything for you. I'm just gonna say that there is a scene with a party where depending on your choices, it can hit close to home. The graphics being amazing helped with the immersion.
Yup, it's available on ps4 both as a separate title and as part of the Heavy Rain/Beyond Collection. Some of your choices do matter and when you mess up you miss out a significant part of the game, so it actually makes you care about your choices/how carefully you play.
Anyway, if you do end up playing it one day, I hope you like it even half as much as I did.

Sounds great. As a religious guy and having interest in soulfly and astral travel I was always interested in Two Souls, but it came out so late in the lifetime of the PS3 that by then my unit was pretty much collecting dust. But you tempt me to give it a try with the PS4, since it's your favorite game of all time.
