I liked Lazy Peon's take on the game:

Should have definitely been delayed. Not locked at 30fps on PC from the start and use more than 720p upscaled textures, game in a lot of LP's looks like a late PS2/early PS3 game.

I'll be waiting till they patch the hell out of it and wait for a discount.

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

It doesn't even start on my pc. A lot of people have the same problem.

From the video you are probably better off lol :D

Lol seems like it. Got my refund... that's it for me. Not going to bother with this trash anymore.

From all the bad PR it's getting on PC at least I would say it will be heavily patched and reduced quite soon, so you're better off to wait until it's actually in a playable form and at a reasonable price for this game. Will save you both money and headwreck.... although that video in the OP looks so funny to play, sort of like why I finished Aliens Colonial Marines just because it was so damn broken (but also because it cost me 60c for the collectors edition of it)

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

The amount of content and things you could do in the previous Mafia isn't entirely present in III and it just makes me wonder on how they managed to screw the game up so much.

Capped frame rate.

Upscaled textures at 720p

Terrible AI.

Ugly skybox

visual clipping

And all the things that Mafia II did better than III as well as things you could do in II that you can't in III. They asked for pre-orders, didn't send out any review copies and released the game in this state.

This has got to be the worst release I've seen from the AAA industry this year. I know Indie games can get their fair share of flak, but this is a AAA game backed by a AAA publisher. I expected AAA quality, not garbage.

The good news is in about 4-6 months the game will be patched and fixed and best of all it will be in the bargain bin.

Mafia 2 was a pretty decent game a year after release.
