If they can do it, cool. I just don't see it a feature anyone would use. I could see putting movies clips like youtube in your house for people to watch. But these are typically short clips.

Streaming a two hour movie to watch with one other household just seems like something I couldn't see people doing.


I certainly prefer full quality in a low light room myself especially for visually impressive or tense movies like Lords of the Ring, thrillers, etc, but I can still imagine interesting uses. For instance while having conversations with people inside your home and then put on a CD or DVD/Blu-Ray concert, playing music and/or video in the background to create a nice atmosphere. Maybe to instantly discuss a documentary with people from different parts of the world who are also interested in the topic at hand.

The usefulness will probably vary depending on content, but having the option I agree would be cool.

I'm looking forward to Home if they can get it going. Sure, it's not exactly a brand new concept never seen before. But, neither was Xbox Live if you were a PC gamer before that. Most people I see that rip at the idea of Home would probably welcome it with open arms if it was on their preferred console.

The difference is, the psp using a local area network that has 100mbps up/down rather than a typical 6mbps down/756kbps up. If he means you upload it like youtube I could see that, but streamiing it is impossible with the internet connections of today. Maybe if you lived in japan, and had a super fast fios connection along with your friend.

 

For the average user the quality would be equivalent or below youtube. It matters how fast you and the other persons connection is and how far away.
