Forums - Gaming - Yooka-Laylee (PS4/XBO/WiiU/PC) to get a physical release

Between this and Shantae (to far lesser extent Might Number 9) I feel really burned Kickstarting these projects that had no physical option only to see one offered to people who didn't Kickstart it.

From now on will never Kickstart any game that lacks a physical option (thank you Bloodstained and Shenmue III).

I really, really want to get pumped for this, as it looks like the true "Banjo Threeie" I've been waiting for since I was like 13 years old, but the horrid track record of big kickstarter projects, especially Wii U ones, still has me expecting this to never see the light of day on Wii U.

Damn, why you so negative against Nintendo ;(!!!!! You must be a Ouya fan.

In this instance, it's not Nintendo I'm being negative about, it's kickstarter. :P

OMG This is GREAT news

I was looking forward to this game but the lack of a physical option didn't allow me to reach my maximum levels of excitement (sorry, I'm a whore for boxed games :P).

Dang, if it turns out to be good, I may pick up a physical copy then!

Pretty sure an email went out to backers...think we'll be getting the option to upgrade to physical.

1 thing that gives me hope is that they said that the Wii U version (along with PC) is the lead development platform, and that they're actually enlisting outside help with PS4/X1 (http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2016/06/playtonic_handling_wii_u_version_of_yooka-laylee_team17_porting_to_ps4_and_xbox_one)

EDIT: or more accurately, that the Wii U version's at least being made by them in house.

That's great, hopefully nothing goes wrong with the Wii U release =.=

I can't remember the last time a high-profile indie release didn't get a physical release.
