Anyone short of CM Punk, Brock Lesnar, The Rock, or John Cena would be a huge disappointment. |
I'm not putting much stock into it at all. The only one I even remotely see it being of that group is CM Punk, but I highly doubt it. I'll stop watching AEW if it's brock. John Cena is a WWE lackey for life, and the Rock can't wrestle anymore. He's insanely talented as an actor and in virtually all other aspects of life, but as a wrestler he's done. |
Rock definitely won't do it. He's doing Young Rock and with WWE teaming with Peacock, that'd be a huge issue. Also the insurance and otherwise. I could maybe see the Rock doing one more match if it were to help a family member get over.
With Cena... I could see him doing it. WWE for life or not, Tony Khan seems willing to throw around money. I'd have said Big Show would be WWE for life, but here we are. But... I think Vince would pay whatever ransom Cena wanted not to have him in AEW.
Brock... I dunno. Brock doesn't seem to have much loyalty and can be bought, but he's really cautious about how he's presented. Dunno if he'd be willing to go there if he's expected to put people over, and don't know if AEW would want him if he wasn't.
Punk seems legit like he doesn't want to wrestle. But, everyone's got a price. Only one possible.
At any rate though I think people are overhyping themselves. If they had a truly huge name, they'd probably announce it before the paperview.
On the subject of AEW... Can someone explain to me why Shaq disappeared from an ambulance like he's the new Undertaker? And why nobody seemed to remember after 5 minutes? Does anyone read the script to this show?
