The effect on hardware sales Gears of war had was very small.

Its looking likely PS4 takes this month. Next month you have the PS4 pro, and with Final Fantasy XV & CoD, Im pretty sure December goes PS4's way too.

i can't agree more. I alson think Ps4 will take october ( 80% sure) and we are going to see a true bloodbath in November and December. The playstation pro will dominate sales handsdown, alson Final fantasy XV will move tons of Ps4Ps4 pro (since Final fantasy is "almost" a playstation exclusive saleswise) and the CoD bundles will, again, sell like hot cookies.

Doesn't matter how good Battlefield is, Cod will always outsell it( a lot of good games don't sell what they should) but Battlefield if a very successful franchise despite the fact of EA trying to suck money with overpriced DLCS.

But the high number of  random people hating on Call of Duty can give a wrong impression.

It appears that PSVR is helping push PS4 sales.

That is unavoidable since they need a PS4 in order to run the PSVR. The PSVR being that high and the PS4 raising in the ranking shows that  it is being sold for new owners and for  the ones that already have a PS4.

I can't agree it was a certainty. PSVR is something even Sony pushed as an option for 'existing owners' and have never suggested it would push PS4 hardware. Clearly there are quite a lot of people who are opting for the PS4s in order to be able to save some money on the PS4/PSVR combo. That is why we're seeing a jump of the PS4s there. It's not something I dismissed, and I'm not entirely surprised but that jump suggests it's had a much bigger affect than I'd imagined.

Highest ranked Xbox One, is at #92 and it went down 4 spots... jeez.
Is it possible we could see it drop entirely out of the top100 for abit?... and Gears of war just launched too.

Meanwhile PSVR actually looks like its pushing sales of PS4's.
