Actually, moustache is just the part of it, it's the whole physique that reminds me of someone about that age (I should know, I'm about that age)...well, apart from lacking any grays...but I guess he's dying them.

To be fair without mustache that age is somewhat understandable, he also reminds me of Pinocchio without it (who ironically is Italian aswell )

Either way, I figure the character couldn't be that old as some though if he's chasing Peach like that and Luigi is his twin brother.
