1) AR isnt well suited for games, and its much more resource heavy to do so than VR is.
I dont consider pokemon Go to be real AR, because its just a 2D sprite basically plastered onto a cam background, without reguard for the world its in. A Tablet with a phone chip, isnt going to be capable of doing real AR. Real AR is what Microsoft is trying to do with its Hololense.
2) If the NX tablet is light enough, and you can pull off the controller unit on the sides, so you just have a tablet screen left..... I could see there being a headset you can slide it into like a VR phone set. This would be a much worse VR experiance than PSVR or OR/Vive, but like the phone thing it would be enough to get a "idea" of what VR is like.
I highly doubt either turns out to be true though.
