That's fucking awesome. I love a bit of secret sauce!

And ps4 pro will be the ultimate platform for VR gaming too.  Very hyped about this.

Oh lord...

Look, I get that you have a hard on for Sony and the PS4, but ultimate platform for VR? That's like saying it'll be king of an ant hill... Trust me, all these industry people trying to convince themselves that VR is 'there' are deluding themselves. It's very niche at the moment and will continue to be until there's something truly groundbreaking, like the nerve gear from Sword Art Online or holodecks.

It's hard not to have a hard on for Sony this gen.  They've become such sexy gaming beasts.

I'll rephrase my statement just for you.

"psvr will be the ultimate gaming VR experience in the niche VR gaming market".

Then more power too them.  I'm talking about the average consumer which money is a big factor to.  There's a reason sales on oculos and Vive have been so low.

Been so low compared to what?. How many units has the PSVR sold? how many units has vive sold? how many units has Rift sold?.

Low compared to the number zero.  Rift and Vive haven't shipped much at all and it's no surprise.  They're far from the ultimate vr experience in the eyes of the mass market.

If any device has the ability to get this ball rolling it's the psvr.  Affordable,  and lots of gaming software support.

When Playstation has a secret sauce, everyone's curious. When the xbox has a secret sauce, everyone is skeptical.

Welcome to the internet.

when playstation has secret sause sony doesn't tell anyone but developers.

when xbox has secret sauce ms markets it publically and makes claims that exaggerate what it will do.

so unless you can point me to a game that show how the cloud made the xbox one 4 times more powerful...

...there accept that there is a reason why ms isn't trusted.

Why trust you? You dont even know the defintion of niche market. VR is "here". Anyone with a sense for economics and takes a look at the growth rate of the VR market and how it spreads into many sectors knows VR is here. It seems it happened so quickly some people didnt get the chance to realize it.

VR IS truly groundbreaking. Get over it.

What if time is an option and a person might not want to bother with setting up vive and wants to use VR in different rooms by simply moving the console and one easy to place camera. You can buy a psvr bundle and start gaming in 5 minutes vs research what you need in a PC, upgrade/build/order it and research how to setup Vive properly.

PSVR is for the mainstream. For those who don't bother buying blu-rays and go for the convenience of streaming instead of spending 30 seconds more inserting a disc for much better quality.

Good then that you can use a small form factor PC thats just as small as the PS4 and use Vive well sitting down and it will still be the better expereience.

Dont try arguring here that the PSVR compares to the Vive as it really isnt even in the same ballpark.

No one is saying that the PSVR isnt worth it for the cost but if money isnt an option why would a person want the lesser hardware?.

Also im tired of you making PC out to look like som complicated mess to use. Its clear your PC is anchint since you have said so your self so many times.

Any downplaying you do of PC comes from 3rd party sources or from "When i last used PC" like 10 years ago!.

Odd, I'm using one right now :p Not in the same ballpark?
Vive 1080x1200 per eye, Pentile, 1,296,000 pixels 2,592,000 sub pixels per eye, 110 degrees fov, 22ms latency, 90hz
PSVR 960x1080 per eye, RGB, 1,036,800 pixels 3,110,400 sub pixels per eye, 100 degrees fov, 18ms latency, supports 60 (reprojected to 120), 90 and 120hz
Seems very much in the same ballpark.

PC isn't complicated to use, that's you twisting my words again, it's more work to get and setup properly than a ps4 + psvr is what I said. I have no idea how move will work with psvr but it worked really well with table tennis and tumble so I'm not too worried about it.

Btw I just finished the way yesterday, it was awesome, play it if you like puzzle platformers. It's on sale now. I backed it so got to promote it :)

That's like saying "Buy Virtual Boy: it'll eventually give rise to something you can actually enjoy!"

:'D

except the flaw in that argument is that the virtual boy was admitedly a piece of shit. Show me the Eve Valkyrie or Dirt Rally type of games you could have played in the virtual boy back in the day? Batman VR? Ace Combat? Resident Evil 7?

yes, if the tech will mature, you should expect to see amazingly immersive games in VR (like full on MMOs). at the moment, at the very least you'll see competent games that millions of people will enjoy.

Lol, please. If you had some semblance of reading comprehension, you'd have realized I'm not directly comparing the two like you just did. Using the VB was illustrative of just how ineffective current VR capabilities will be.

After the novelty of using your head to look around in the gameworld wears off, it's exactly the same as looking at a TV. It's a gimmick much like the Wii Remote was; what can you do with this that you couldn't do before? It's not a major shift in capabilities or accessibility.

What can you do that you couldn't do before? Immersion. The sense of 'being' inside the game. Tricking your brain into feeling you're actually the character in the game. For now the best experiences in my oppinion will be 'cockpit' ones. Flying an airplane, spaceship, car, mech, etc. Once the hardware gets powerful enough I'm 100% convinced we'll jump into more connected worlds. Fist bump with your friends right before attacking the raid boss and wave everyone goodbye when you're ready to leave.

I'd really be curious to hear what current VR experience have you had that made you go back to the virtual boy as a comparison. I'm starting to suspect you've never tried one, or both of those.

Nope thats still PC Vr is the ultimate experience no matter what way you try to twist it.

PCVR isnt as better as the price suggests. In fact the gap will be hardly noticable with a prostation4 psvr combo. Not to speak of most comfortable, easy to setup and adjust. Standard ps4 and psvr can already hold their own (driveclub) against the way more expensive PC VR. Ultimate my heini. And lets not forget about those exclusive content, full grown, developed from the ground up games, not just physics demos with a price tag.

Hunting Season is done...

PSVR will make VR games mainstream to the public. I don't see Vive, or Oculus doing it.

PSVR has shipped nothing yet so whats your point?.

Im also pretty sure Vive isnt proper released yet and is still in early access type thing.

Rift was late on pre orders for launch since they didnt have enough stock.

Also Mobile VR is whats going to get the ball rolling as Console and PC vr is niche compared to mobile VR that has something like 5 million users.

Lol how is it the ultimate experience if it isn't properly released and an early access type of thing?  That's contradictory.

For the mainstream who don't want to shell out a small fortune,  psvr is going to be their ultimate gaming VR experience. The sales will show it.
