Also, when I was looking for meryl some idiot found me and there were over 6 body gaurds coming and dropped me to 1 hp.

With that rotation that I can barely get in the beginning of the battle with that phsyco dude it only heals to just a little over half of my health, he hits me twice Im a goner.

MGS is a very cool game, quite different from anything from the same era.

1 and 3 were my favorites. The substance version of 3 that's included in the essential collection you have makes up for the controls everyone complains about. Even allows you to spin the camera 360 with the right analog stick and that was what was missing from the original mgs 3.

Does the camera angle change from 1 to 2?

Try switching controller ports.

My friend intentionally did this to me. I had never played MGS, and he said "I need help on this boss." He laughed for about an hour before telling me how to beat him.

I once defeated Psycho Mantis on default controller port...I had to use cheap method though: FAMAS + Bandana combo. It took some time but I did it, so it's possible.

I'll say that Leo-j switched controller ports already (after 3rd lost, THE GAME ITSELF SUGGESTS IT), but has hard time evading all that crap Psycho Mantis is throwing at Snake.....just keep trying, you'll beat him eventually.
