Forums - General - What do you think about "Games For Windows"

I think it's stupid. Microsoft just wants to make the PC like another xbox (i.e. a closed, controlled environment where you pay for everything you do)

I haven't tried this yet...but my GF wants Viva Pinata...so maybe.

It works great for me

Your theories are the worst kind of popular tripe, your methods are sloppy, and your conclusions are highly questionable! You are a poor scientist. Especially if you think the moon landing was faked.

It's crap.

Wait, are we talking Games for Windows or Games for Windows Live?

GFW is fine. GFWLive is the problem.

Oh, well GFW is okay. It's not necessarily good nor bad. It's just, there. Many games that I love have taken no part in GFW, while others have fully embraced it (like Supreme Commander).

GFWL, however, is another matter entirely.

Although they say that that the games undergo extensive testing, how much of a difference does having the games for windows logo make? The only games for windows game that I actually have is Company of Heroes (though I do have the expansion pack too and WiC as downloads)

The only real reason I like it is guarantees a controller works. Which means that if I want I can play on my couch.

I only play RTSs on my PC, so being able to use a 360 controller is not a bonus for (and I don't have one yet) and my PC isn't powerfull enough to get games to run smoothly, which is why I prefer console gaming as I know that that game will work on that system (although of course most PS3 games are designed for the system, but merely ported)
