Well it doesn't interest me in the slightest and it's not like a typical rare game. Maybe it's not fair for me to call it garbage but it just doesn't look like a RareWare game to me.

Why does Sea of Thieves  not look like a Rareware game.  What is a typical Rare game because studios do change and grow and they really should not be stagnant.  Personally I would not want to be reduced to only just do platformers or only do just Fist person shooters.  I would like for studios to express their creative talent as broad as their ability to make a high quality product.  How is it that people can congratulate developers when they expand into new territory and then in the same breath want them to keep doing the same old stuff.

A trypical Rare game to me is a platformer with good graphics and music and a lot of humor in it. Or Goldeneye. Anything they did outside of those were just mediocre games. A company should stick to what they are good at. Killer Instinct was also good my bad.

We just need the IP's really, buy those and then buy Playtonic. Problem solved =P

Just Conker, Banjo and Battletoads would be enough.

So you did not like Viva Pinata.  I happen to think both games were really strong games and totally different from their previous work.  Either way, I always believe no developer should be held to just do one thing because their audience believe it to be so.  Would Godeneye or Perfect dark have been made if Rare only stuck to platformers.

Nintendo should trade games they don't use or treat like garbage with MS.
Starting with Metroid franchise.
Btw, how many people in Playtonic designed or made big iconic Rare games?
Hint: Banjo creator is still at Rare.

Wouldn't be a good idea

If they want the old devs back, then getting Playtonic would be a good idea

I rather have Playtonic be a third party ;(

Rareware is a lost cause at this point.

Nintendo should buy the rights to Banjo Kazooie though or better yet - Playtonic should!

I agree with Baz. Playtonic should retain its independence. Rare can stay with Microsoft and create new properties. Someone who knows how to make a 3D platformer (Nintendo) should buy Banjo and make Banjo-Threeie so I can die happy.

I didn't bother checking on the others, but David Wise most certainly resigned on 30 October 2009.  That's a long time ago.  I suspect most other talent is gone to by now.

Not really, Rare's biggest creative director is still in the company. Gregg Mayles, who created Banjo, Diddy Kong, Battletoads, and most Rare games after MS purchased Rare.

That's a good group of folks though.

I love the naivety of this post where people actually think Rare is the same company just like 15 years ago.
