Forums - Gaming - A translation error has been discovered in SMTIV : Apocalypse !

But...I mean...can't they pull all of the text, translate it, and then proof the script to make sure they caught everything? No matter how you slice it, leaving any untranslated text is sloppy work, and although they may trust QA to catch when they accidentally miss some text, it shouldn't take QA testers to make sure all of the text gets translated to begin with.

I can forgive a small translation error or two that are a result of simply not proofing the script well enough, but to miss text completely is some amateur hour stuff. They literally have all the game files and can pull every last word of text. I can't think of a truly valid reason for messing up in this way.

I saw this earlier, was pretty funny.. got to hire some QCers that are bad at games now :p

[3DS] Winter Playtimes [Wii U]

Pre-order cancelled.

Seriously though, that's cool that they came out to address it. I normally don't like English voice-overs in JRPGs, but Atlus does a fantastic job with localization in my experience. In the Devil Survivor games, even faceless NPCs will have realistic voices, which is far above what I expect. Something this minor, that requires an apparently uncommon condition to achieve, doesn't really bother me.

Still funny though.
