This is in part a response to the other thread but it IS legitimate advise coming from someone who's keeping an eye on the sales trends:

I would hold off buying a XB1slim. It's currently getting beaten by The Old PS4, the PS4pro AND the PS4slim on Amazon, as it is on other online stores too. It won't be long before MS has to give more games away with it and probably add a $50 gift card. You'll save a good $100 if you wait long enough.

I would hold off buying anything for a bit (that's what I am doing).

The sales battle in the US is going to be insane over the holidays with massive deals and bundles from both manufacturers.

Now announce the NX, I am tired of waiting!

Never buy anything ever again because odds are one day somewhere it will be cheaper.

I for one am shocked that the new Playstation consoles are outselling the Xbox. I mean, it's a stark contrast to what was happening before the S launched and before Sony revealed two new PS4 consoles. I totally think MS is blindsided by this and will include 2 extra controllers, 2 years of XBLG and 3 free games.

But if you wait a month it might be 5 games.
