Capcom confirms 4K and HDR will be coming to Resident Evil 7 on PS4 Pro.
Capcom has announced that Resident Evil 7: biohazard will support 4K and HDR capabilities on PlayStation 4 Pro.
What isn’t yet known however is if the upcoming survival horror title will feature native 4K resolution, or will be upscaled via Sony’s Checkerboard Rendering.
Resident Evil 7 is scheduled for release on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One on January 24, 2017. Pre-orders for the horror sequel will reward gamers with one of many Survival Packs, such as extra ammo or healing items.
The game takes place an undisclosed amount of time after Resident Evil 6, and sees players controlling a new protagonist named Ethan, as he investigates the disappearance of his wife in a remote plantation mansion in the southern U.S.

Unlike previous mainline entries in the venerated survival horror series, Resident Evil 7 is set entirely from a first-person perspective. In addition, gamers are able to play the entire game through using PlayStation VR if they see fit, although the gameplay remains identical either way.
Capcom released the Resident Evil 7 demo following its announcement at E3 2016, and is currently available to grab via the PlayStation Store for PlayStation Plus users. The demo offers multiple endings and contains numerous hidden items, such as the notorious dummy finger, which has still yet to reveal its purpose.
Resident Evil celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, and Capcom has been busy remastering Resident Evil 4, 5 and 6 for PS4 and Xbox One throughout 2016. All three are now available to grab as a digital download or boxed copy.
In addition, the publisher is also working on full-fledged remake of Resident Evil 2, though we’ve yet to see anything on the game minus a logo since its announcement last summer.
