Forums - Microsoft - ReCore Metacritic/Review thread - Current Meta:63

Damn, that's really dissapointing. I thought the game would have a hard time getting to the 80's in metacritic so I was being hopeful and said 82 metascore as my guess but I figured the game would at minimum land somewhere in the 70's, never expected the 60's.

It's such a shame because the game looks like it had so much potential to be a really big new IP for Microsoft if done well. I've been watching the game on youtube and I will say that I do still think it looks like a great game despite what metascore it might have. Hoping that maybe if it sells well enough it could lead to a higher budget sequel in the future but I doubt it at this point, I feel like Microsoft will just drop any future plans for the IP now.

Fuck, it really sucks when you see a game that has so much potential but doesn't meet up to that potential over things like performance issues or some development decisions and such. I think the Characters, story, music, and world they created in this game are really amazing and it's sad we may never see them utilized to how amazing they can be because maybe Microsoft will see this and think "Why make a sequel for this game when it didn't review well so obviously not too many people liked it", so I can really only see there being more of this IP if it ends up selling well, so here's hoping for the best then especially since it has a better chance because it's $40.

Here you have it. I was thinking 70. Honestly why did people think 80+ This game received no real previews and it was basically purchased to say we have a legendary Japanese developer who want his games on Xbox.

I count quite a few, actually...

- The Order
- DRIVECLUB
- Bloodborne
- Scalebound
- ReCore
Quantum Break
- No Man's Sky
- Destiny
- WATCH_DOGS
- The Division
- Sunset Overdrive
- Overwatch
- Rocket League
- Until Dawn
- Splatoon
- Ryse
- Knack

And that's just off the top of my head.

Can I add:

- Alienation

- Resogun

- Lords of the Fallen

- battleborn

- Warframe

I'd also add Nights of Azure, which was I thought was pretty fun and decently polished, middling MC scores be damned, and apparently did well enough within its budget for Koei Tecmo to greenlight a sequel and immediately announce it for a US release.  And Ni-oh looks very promising and is getting a lot of positive buzz.

When I saw this game and the Metroid developers that were making it, I thought zomg, this will be the Metroid game that Nintendo isn't willing to give us!

Now it has a lower meta than fucking Metroid Federation Force... What the shitz happened?

Same thing that happens to many devs who leave their publishers they fall flat because the hand holding or higher ups keeping them in check that they didn't like was a big factor in contributing to what made their games good.

Add Attack on Titan too :p

I bought it. Fuck it. Can't think of anything else I want to play. Not much I own that excites me.

*Shrugs*

This game will probably get patched a few times over the next few weeks / months to sort some the glitches and load times out. Hopefully by then it will also be cheaper.

Grandkingdom is a pretty good game as well.

Also, if they mentioned Scalebound which isn't out, can we add Ni-Oh too? Also, Tomorrow Children isn't Indie is it?

I'm sorry, but people expecting 75~80 here are being deluded.

3DS, Wii, PSP, Vita, PS2, PS3, PS4 & Steam.

In all fairness this game had good hype and build up going for it. There was nothing indicating it was bad until people got an early copy and started pointing out the glitches and load times.

I don't have an XOne, but even I was excited that Xbox owners may get something similar to R&C. The gameplay looked similar to that with its own twist.

I'm just wondering what this will do to thingies career (forgotten what the creators name is, the ex Capcom guy).
