I think that in the end will win who has the better games

I will be getting a PS4 Pro, likely at launch. Even though it upsets me that the Pro doesn't have a UHD Drive, I readily admit that I would likely only use it a handful of times due to my movie habits revolving around what my dad purchases on Vudu (to which I have access).

And while the Scorpio will undoubtedly have better visuals, those visuals may very well come too late. With no exclusives also a factor, I really see no reason to get a Scorpio.

Assuming the XB1S keeps its price in line with the cheapest 4K Bluray Player, I may grab one of those, but it's unlikely that will be the case. I'll probably grab a dedicated player around the $100-$150 range... Though I may end up skipping it entirely.

If Xbox play anywhere takes off(3rd party supports it), I'll get a Scorpio for my living room setup, if not I'll ride it out with the OG PS4/X1 and NX for the rest of the gen.

I'll probably get the Pro and Scorpio.

*Spoiler Alert*

The ps4 slim will beat the xbox slim easily.
The ps4 pro will beat the xbox scorpio easily.
The OG Ps4 has beaten the OG xbox easily.

It's pretty straightforward. Sony are taking this gen incredibly easily. The fact their ps4 slim is so efficiently built compared to the xbox slim (smaller, cheaper parts and no UHD drive) means MS will never be able to seriously under cut them in price. You will never see the xbox $100 cheaper than the ps4 again which it needs to be competitive. And even at that it still loses easily.

Anyway that's my opinion.

I would not suggest buying the X1s as a UHD player. The visual quality is the worst of the existing players and according to many reviewers it is worse by a pretty large margain.

Instead wait another 6 months until better more reasonably priced 4K players hit the market.

However, if you have a cheapie 4K TV, ~$1K set, you won't be able to see the difference between the X1S and the better players, so if that is the case then go ahead and get it.

Really? I read some reviews where they said the UHD quailty were some of the best there is? I can see the review you are reading so I can see what the issues are?

I am thinking to go with this one for our TV:

Here are a few reviews:

http://www.gizmodo.com.au/2016/08/psa-the-xbox-one-s-is-the-cheapest-4k-blu-ray-player-you-can-buy-in-australia-right-now/

As Bang For your buck goes, it is the best option, but it is not the best option for playback quality. As you can see in all the reviews It comes down to, it is an awesome player, FOR THE PRICE.

The TV you are planning on getting is not bad but it is Edge-lit which in dark scenes will have a lot of light bleed in movies. This will be even more noticable in scenese that use HDR. If you want the best out of 4K you will want Array-lit LED (or micro-dimming...many names for this tech), or OLED. To get this you will need to spend at least another $600 on your TV.

So if you don't want to wait for 6 months or so for a dedicated 4K player and pay an additiaonl $600 on your TV then you will be more than happy with the 1S and TV combo you selected.

However, the TV should last you a good 7 years before it's tech get's old and depending on how many movies you watch and games you play, it may be worth the extra cash.

Sony is market leader as far as consoles go - currently. And I don't see that changing anytime soon. When Scorpio eventually releases a year after the Pro, I very much doubt it will have much impact on the PS4 and Pro sales. Though I'm willing to eat crow..

When Sony and MS starts the 9th generation, things will get more interesting again.

I really think this Xbox Scorpio/PS4 Pro discussion is way overheated. Those are going to be two consoles that are not going to bring anything new to the generation, just some minor technological upgrade.

I see the "business sense", but not the "gamer sense" of these new consoles.

It is something new, so I understand why it's a hot topic.

About the "gamer sense", that's the main reason why I speculate people will stick with Sony: their games are much more appealing and diverse. I'm looking forward to Detroit and God of War too.

Do you believe that playing those games on the PS4 Pro is actually going to enhance your experience?

In my opinion, the new features and specs are not worth the upgrade over a normal PS4.
