Well, in terms of TFlops, ps4 is 50% more powerfull than Xbox One
And Scorpio is 50% more than PS4 Pro.
So, the same advantage PS4 had comparing to One.
Is that big obvious difference that everyone would notice?

Were you here back in 2013?

It was almost as if XOne games were unplayable. Thread upon threads on how third parties would drop support and the gap would wide ad infinitum.

LOL, remember when there was confusion about that shitty Spider-Man game getting a retail Xbone release and the talk was how that was just the beginning of 3rd parties canceling Xbone get and not even bothering with the console any more? lol, good times.

I think they are both gonna look great. They spoke today about achieving 4K, not with brute power but with pipelines that fully take advantage of the system.

Also didn't anyone else notice the incredible visuals in today meeting? I am more than okay with this level of fidelity.

Well it should be more powerful, it's coming a year or so later after all.

The gap should be obvious. The Pro merely upgraded an already weak CPU. For all the talk Sony did about 4k, the games aren't native 4k, and it doesn't even play UHD discs.

Plus with Sony limiting what devs can do for Pro owners, I don't see the point in buying it. MP games can't run better on Pro because it would be bad for communities? Uh, ever hear of PC gaming?

With the PS4 Pro and XBox One Scorpio both being tethered to the PS4 and XBone respectively, I'm not sure how big the gap could really be. At best, the difference could be like going from high to ultra, and I really don't think that kind of difference is that important to console gamers. May able to take some of the higher end consumers from Sony, but not going to turn the race around.

That being said, it will be very funny to see the people who made a big deal about the PS4 being more powerful suddenly claim that the difference isn't important.

Well, Scorpio will literally be 1 full PS4 more powerful than PS4 Pro and sporting beastly memory bandwidth and newer cpu cores. That's a decisive amount of rendering power.

That's relative. For me, it's absolutely nothing

OT: It certainly should be obvious at nearly 2TF more theoretical power to work with. I just won't have any interest in it if there's nothing to play on it that won't also be available on PC.

And therein lies the problem with Scorpio. No exclusives. If everything that will launch on the XBO is coming to PC, there's really no point in getting a Scorpio. Now, there will be a few who prefer the console experience, but a big part of that IS exclusives.

@ OP

If they aren't worried, will they be giving sales numbers, now? No? Didn't think so. And they should be when the Pro is $349, has already had a year to take the top spot for 4K console gaming, and they're just launching at $499.

Not sure why you find it funny when your first paragraph perfectly explains why it won't matter. These consoles are still tied to their OG forms. Which means they're not going to change anything about the outcome of this gen.

Is obvious they lie.
Scorpio is a new console Is the xbox 3, or 720, or 2 whatever, and they create it late because all rumors about PS4 NEO. Thats why is coming this year with already forward compatibility
Sony keep going to the safe road the ps4 lead them, they not abandon it, like MS, they don't confuse anyone, they just upgrade the already powerfull console for VR and 4K hdr tv's
I f they can make native 4k games with that price good for them they have the most powerfull console, for NOW lets back to the PS4 PRO

"We" don't have to do anything, plenty of us are interested in a more powerful device that can actually perform 4K with less compromise.

If MS get crapped on for the last 3 years for only having 900p games, then Sony should not be given a free pass here.

IMO Sony is rushing this product for no good reason ... they should have waited a little longer and made a proper 4K machine capable of displaying actual 4K content, not "kinda 4K" and "no 4K Blu-Rays". What exactly is even the rush anyway, PS4 Slim would've sold just fine this holiday.

Come here and tell me that again when MS give with scorpio "actual 4k content" that i supposed you mean "native 4k games" because for now and the next year we going to see a good 4k upscale and HDR with PS4PRO  and HDR ALSO for the standar PS4 without need to buy a new console only for that

If the  standar ps4 is capable to produce HDR with just a update Sony don't need to wait for anything    he gives people what they want now

People must understand the scorpio is the Xbox 2 beacause has complety new architech and you see that when MS not going to name it xbox one premium or somenthing with "one" in it

Doubt Scorpio is launching at $499. I love that this narrative keeps getting pushed. MS taking their time to make a proper system that can actually function well on a 4KTV will allow them to launch at $399.99 by waiting for the proper technology to come down in price.

Sony is the one IMO who is rushing for no good reason, with a system that can't really run native 4K games nor can it run 4K movies either, yet it's supposed to be the go to for people with a 4KTV? Gimme a break, Sony. I really don't even understand why the feel this has to be out this year. If 4K is the emphasis of this device, and it clearly was from their press event, then why not actually make a system capable of real 4K. If MS took moutains of grief for saiyng 900p upscaled to 1080p is basically good enough than 1800p upscaled to 4K is essentially the same thing and they should be called out for it.
