To be fair, PCs does have its own exclusives so exclusives are dependent on the taste of the user...

Also to be fair, you don't actually need $1000 either... While I don't agree with toot's build cause he is really squeezing it and omiting some things, the GPU that the ps4 pro has is a downclocked 480 which DF used to test their benchmarks of the Pro. So an actual 480 would perform similar to the ps4 Pro with the exception of some unoptimized games. I would say a $600-$650 usd PC should be able take on a ps4 pro. But certainly not a $400 one.

And both have advantages/disadvantages.

yea i was just showing an extreme cost saving example

you could buy used parts and easily beat the ps4 pro's price

Thats true.

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

The PS4 comes with its own OS and controller. It comes with everything you need to play. What you linked - doesn't.

You basically left out everything you could and it STILL cost more than $400 (and even more when you include that mail-in -rebate you didn't mention.

I'm surprised you didn't just suggest pirating the OS.

Barely more expensive but, 100x better. If you add in PS Plus thats 60$ or 70$ now every year.

edit: same price now with everything needed http://pcpartpicker.com/list/wXsYNN

and if you bought used you could bring this down way more.

100x better you say? Jesus tapdancing Christ....Tossed.

I dont see if anybody asked already. Do you have a 4K monitor/TV for the PS4 Pro?

You don't need a 4ktv for a ps4pro.

$400 no, $500 PC absolutely.

Sub$500 gaming pc's aren't really worth it to me; there's lots of compromise and you'll have to upgrade soon anyway, wasting your initial investment. If that's your budget then get a PS4P. If you can save up more for a $6-800 PC then you can have one beautiful machine.

Pls don't buy a 400 PC, waste of money.

There is just no way to build a pc for 400$ thats going to run games better.

This. People should stop pretending that price is a killer argument against PCs. There will never exist a PC with the same price/performance ratio of a console. Like there will never be a console with the same capabilities as a PC.

That said, give it a few years and PC will catch up again.
