That's the main problem they have. They've used HDR as a selling point for the Slim and now find themselves in a awkward situation.

If that happends its this all over again:

It will put MS in a bad light,...

Give me a break. Not putting a 4k Blu-ray player in the PS4 slim or Pro doesn't matter though?

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

Thats not trickery though, thats a bussiness decision to make it as cheap & powerfull as possible.

If the old Xbox One can do HDR, but the reason MS doesnt allow it, is to sell Slims, then thats a very differnt thing than not includeing a Blu-ray player.

If you had to pick between 2 PS4 pro designs; And your engineers told you, in stores it would amount to A or B:

a)  399$  PS4 pro  no blu-ray drive + chip

b) 449$ PS4 pro with blu-ray drive + chip

Which one would you pick if you where in charge?

No point for HDR if ur console doesn't support hdmi 2.0

I would probably choose b, and sell for a slight loss. You also need to realize the XB1 slim is $100 cheaper than the pro (same price as slim), but includes it. The reason I responded is how you compared not putting HDR to the used-game spectacle in 2013.

I am not sure if they can. I have a new 2016 4k television that supports HDR. It has a lot of up-scaling capabilities, but if it is a hardware issue then MS may not be able to do it. Xbox One S, or PS4/PS4 Pro may be the only option.

A lot of older (early 2015) 4k television do not even support HDR. HDR was one of the reasons I bought my more expensive current model because a lot of 2015 models did not support it. My buddy has a Sony 4k television he picked up early last year and it does not have HDR.

What does "Show me the colours" mean? Is that a version of show me the money? Or where is the green?

I just had to come up with an option for people who didn't want to vote but wanted to see the results.

The PS5 Exists.

The reason I did that was because if MS suddenly also does HDR on older Xbox One models, and it was possibly all along (they just choose not to do it, or tell anyone about it) to sell more Slims, then thats basically the same thing as that "used-game spectacle", its pretty Anti-consumer.

I dont think MS will put HDR on older models of Xbox One, even if possible because they dont want to step into a trap like this.

Also because they want to sell slims instead of the older models (more than they care about said buyers of older models).

However its good on sonys part to say "we got HDR working on base model as well, soon everyone will have it via Firmware update".

Thats pretty Pro-consumer.
