What does that have to do with this topic?

What did WiiU and DVDs have to do with this topic?

This topic is about a console not accepting a certain type of media, The WiiU is a console, a DVD is a type of media. It seems pretty relevant to the general topic. Now maybe you should go calm down, because you seem a little tense.

I'm not gonna lie I'm in shock.

All of a sudden the most important thing for a gaming console, the deal breaking omission

Is that it won't play 4K Blu-ray movies.

Mind boggling.

It is just a matter of time before the firmware update. The bluray was not ready Day One on Ps4.

You do need a 4k Capable Bluray drive in order to play it. If the Drive inside the Neo doesn't support it, a firmware update isn't going to do anything. People that are at the press event are saying that it can't play 4k Blurays and not, it won't at launch... So...

personally i gave up on blu ray a few years back in favor of streaming. the data shows that regular old blu ray has still yet to take control of the market from dvd. so yeah,.. excuse me while i laugh at the manufactured outrage over this non-issue.

Sony marketed this as THE console for playstation fans if you want 4K. To find out then that it won't even play 4K Blu-Rays is a big deal then, no matter how you may try to spin it as if it's nothing. I personally don't even buy Blu-Rays much myself, so this isn't a big issue (I'm also not buying a Pro either since i'm fine with my regular PS4) for me but I can see for people who do how this can be a deal breaker if they wanted to use the Pro as their go to 4K Device for everything.

I don't have a single 4K blu-ray so no. It won't affect my decision.

My brother in law wants to buy my PS4 OG so I need a new PS4 anyway.

With that sweet $399 price tag PS4 Pro is a no brainer for me

lol you still buy blue rays for your movies?

PS4 Pro is light years ahead in performance than the XO S and costs the same

When one has a top of the line tv and surround sound, ect one does not rely on compressed streaming services.

You want the best picture and sound you get it on disc.

And if one has a 4k tv that has HDR, would one not want to use it to its fulllest?

Also you do realize that to use 4k HDR content on Netflix (I looked th eother day) it requires at MIN a 20 mb internet speed. Not everyone has that.

So you want to but a console and want the best? But you don't want the best graphics? Instead you want to play 4K Blu Rays. Strange decision when buying a console. Wouldn't you want your 4K HDR TV to show off the best games possible when buying a console?

Errrr..... somy marketed it as the console for playsation fans if you want 4k gaming.

It does exactly that.

Getting 4k YouTube/Netflix and any other streaming service is a bonus to me.

I am not or will never be buying a gaming console primarily to play movies. If you consider this as spin then I don't know what to say.

Well, that's sad. A big failure.
