Input lag also comes from using the tv scaler. For example, if the tv scales a 1080p game to 4k you will have more input lag.

Most TVs tend to have settings which lower input latency, generally at the expense of a small colour gamut sacrifice.

so how can i figure out which tv sets to get? |
Don't buy a TV for gaming. Period. My HDTV is considered greatand it still has about 5 frames of lag between pressing a button and seeing it on screen.
I bought a 144 Hz, 1ms monitor for gaming, I just use the TV for videos, etc now. It's noticably faster than the TV,
Just make sure you turn off those extra features. Even with all that stuff turned off, yes, I still got 5 frames of lag.
Nice, a thread of gamers that must despise stream so-called "gaming" like laughable PS NOW*!!!
Death to input lag!!!

I think you mean PS NOW. And I can honestly say I have no use for game streaming services. For a host of reasons.

You're absolutly right, I meant PS NOW. I can't understand the excitement of some gamers for such a horrendous way of "gaming", it baffles me!!!

have you tried it?
Ages ago when I tried it on my PC (shortly after Gaikai was bought) it already ran pretty well with my ~75ms ping connection. Obviously it didn't seem adequate enough for competitive online games at that point though.

I've tried it with 40ms ping on my fiber optic internet connection & again I can't understand why a gamer would want to play games via streaming... worse video quality, artefacts here & there, slowdowns & above all a deal breaking input lag!!! Maybe in 10/15 years when everyone has 1Gbps connections & such companies have faster servers, until then, it's a no-go.
Not even speaking about the fact that you don't own the games or that you can't play if the internet connection is down or the modem dies...
