I love my ps3 (and that's from a multi console owner-lover). (That "lover" part makes a huge difference! Lol, I swear I know people that own all 3 consoles so they can simply talk shit about one and say, "I'm not a fanboy! I even own console "x" or "y"!)

But seriously, I think the perception of the ps3 has definitely improved for the most part, except for a FEW hardcore, foolish little kids.

I think the perception of blu-ray has started to improve too---Damn, I know I love it and I didn't even know what the hell it was when I bought my ps3.

Lol, my most annoying spout is when you see someone spouting that the ps3 doesn't have any games to play and then they tell you they're playing something like Rock Band on their 360....
Um...last I knew, the ps3 had Rock Band, etc. too. They just like to overlook the fact that they personally buy all multi-console games on their 360--hence, it has all the games.

And the quality differences are truly minimal to non-existant in 90% of the multi-games. Some could even be argued in favor of the ps3, such as DMC4.

Anyhow, long speal, but....I like all 3 of my consoles. And I'm assured of never missing out on ANY good game.

I think the backlash you're seeing on this site is due to the Sony fanbase, not so much the PS3. For every thread taking the PS3 down a notch, there are at least seven others proclaiming in annoying Capslock, "ZOMFG!!! PS3 OUTSOLD THE 360 BY 15.3K THIS WEEK! SONY DOMINATION HAS BEGUN!!!!"

The reason many people don't like the PS3 is because Sony basically fucked it up and is now playing a game of catch up. Because of stupid reasons on Sony's part, the PS3 set Sony's stake in gaming back over a decade and took a swift kick to the balls of anyone who was a PS2 fan. But that's not to say everyone should hate it, or that people aren't allowed to like it, just understand there is ample and justified reasons for those who do dislike it to have that opinion of it.

People who could care less about what console wins are fast being turned anti-Sony gamers by the Sony fanbase here. If the Ps3 does poorly or suffers that week, the Sony trolls become more aggressive and abnoxious, if the PS3 does well or shines that week, the Sony trolls become more aggressive and abnoxious. Its a no win spiral for everyone else on the forum and is arguably the largest source of most conflict here.

I blame FishyJoe for making this the most overused buzzword on the site.

Honestly, I don't think it's as bad as it could be. I don't see much PS3 "haters" here. Not as much as I thought there would be. I thought there would be a lot bash PS3 threads on VGChartz...but there weren't. Now granted the site isn't really for PS3, the site is fairly tolerable.

 This is hardly the case in many threads trestres; look at some of the incredible claims put forth by John Lucas and Avinash, can't call those facts straight up exactly.

In fact; the term fanboy would indicate (to me) a person unable to apply logic or reasoning behind their posts except "I said so" so it would apply to all fanboys, and indeed does.

It's not as bad as "I Blame Wii Fit".

Frankly, it's like Onimusha said. It's a lot of backlash. The PS3 finally gained a respectable position, but it was ruined because PS fans finally got what they wanted so badly and they reacted a bit strongly. If the PS3 sells 200k in Europe, that's topic worthy. If it outsells the 360, gee, what else is new?

And come on, someone's liking for a console doesn't eliminate their comprehension of it's shortcomings. Despite that I love the Wii, I understand that some hate it because it's graphics, controller, lack of HD or hard-drive. It's not like because I like it everyone will like it.

about 1 year ago i saw a damn load of ps3 haters. they used to make shit ass comparasins on youtube just to bash the ps3. and the 360 boys used to do this the most: say shit about ps3 without even researching facts about it, and saying every single exclusive is garbage.

 Completely agree here. You think this site is bad? I live through this kind of thing daily. Try being the only PS fan in your group of fans and constantly hear the bashing of it from pretty much all your friends. I live in Anti-Sony territory. This site is nothing, NOTHING. People don't like your prefered console? Get used to it. Honestly, it shouldn't matter if other people don't like your console. All that should matter is you like that console and the games on it. What other people think doesn't matter.
