i always wondered what if the ps3 was $399 to begin with. the front page would be completely different right now.

if the ps3 was 399 sony wouldve lost close to 1 billiob bucks

 How did Nintendo mess up during the N64 generation? Some of the best games of all time were produced then (Ocarina of Time, Super Mario 64). I still would rather use cartridges then cds because of how durable cartridges are. Was there a need to move on to cds that generation anyway? Seems to me that cutscenes were one of reasons cds were preferred, but, cutscenes are so annoying, specifically when you can't skip them. 

N64 was my best generation too, but it was the beginning of the dark days for Nintendo. Following up the poor decisions of the SNES (no blood, screwing over third party developers), the N64 ushered in an age of expensive cartridges and third party developer exclusion. It was a contemptuous and arrogant time for Nintendo. The Gamecube was Nintendo's attempt to do everything they should have done with the N64, but by then it was too little too late.
