Forums - Nintendo - Emily Rogers: NX Below XB1/PS4 In Power; Battery Life Is Not Great

No way she knows all these things. Why would she know how loud the fan is. Before the NX, no, before this year, I had never even heard of this woman anyway and seeing as pretty much all the previous stuff she "leaked" has been false, instead of the blatently obvious and things that anyone with a little luck could have guessed, I don't see why this or the other rumours would be remotely reliable. I don't believe a word of this.

But we'll know soon enough.

What device? The chip?Because the NX itself cant be that thin.I mean, it would almost be a paper in thickness then!

Or maybe im just tired and mz brain in not working right and Im just understanding this wrong.

My tablet is 10.6mm thick, so 14-15mm should be possible for the screen portion of the NX. I assume the detachable controllers are thicker than that for ergonomic reasons.

This is a tablet that's 15mm thick, it's not bad.

Oh, didnt know that tablets could be that thin!Im really outdated in tecnologies in general.Need to get updated on this.Or mazbe I just need some sleep to get my brain working again.

But assuming the controlers would be obviously bigger due to confort reasons, wouldnt it look ugly?Well, maybe im reading too much into it.Well, gonna need to see to make a better judgement

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

Wow, if the rumors are true this hybrid makes for an awful portable or home system.

Low battery and it still doesn't bring in premium experiences all the while being bulky but let's hope Emily Rogers is full of shit as usual.

1.5 centimeters is paper thin? whaaaaaat?

I personally imagined the NX to be thicker, because of how big a battery I imagine such a tablet to need.

Actually, 15mm is unacceptably thick for tablets these days.

But the NX is not a usual tablet, so thickness is desired in this case.

While much of this may be true of the dev kit, I highly doubt this is an accurate depiction of the final product. While some things, such as the screen resolution, are unlikely to change, things like battery life, cooling, and even the GPU could easily change (if past products are any indication). I wouldn't expect the GPU to get more powerful necessarily, but it may be significantly more power efficient than whatever's in there right now.

Exactly - especially with battery life.

If this is indeed something of Shield Tablet revision - they should hit 5 hrs of battery life. Not the best - but honestly better than the WiiU and somewhere in the league where the 3DS/Vita is now. Considering this device is easily more powerful than all 3 of those platforms, that's pretty good.

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

I'll gladly trade that big screen for more battery life. 4.5-5 inches screen is more than fine for me.

Id rather trade how "thin & light it is" than screen size & power.

Just make it bigger/thicker and get it a massive battery.

She is such a teaser =(

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

15mm amounts to 1,5 cm or 0,6 inches. It's basically the thickness of the bottom half of a 3DS XL or the bottom half of a late 2011 macbook pro before they got their slimming treatment. For a tablet that's actually pretty hefty. An ipad is only between 6 - 7 mm thick these days, depending on the model.

I hope that helps, even if your brain is tired.
