I have another thread exploring the real impact to media coverage due to Apple's iPhone7 event on same day as Sony's. One message many people state is that they are too different of markets to be an impact. While I disagree, it made me ponder this scenario.

What if Nintendo drops the date and time of their next Nintendo Direct focusing on NX via social media, etc just before Sony's conference kicks off?

Would that overshadow Neo reveal, considering its a modification of the existing PS4 and not a new console?

Would NX get top spot in gaming sites/news with Neo articles below or would it be more of a highlight with Neo still geting majority of spotlight?

In the last thread you talked about headlines being at the top and center on news sites.
Will NX one would be up there a few hours, and then get replaces by the PS4 neo news (I think).

Playstation is a bigger brand.
I think most news sites would put it above the NX news story.

Also you would be in a situation where people would be compaireing graphics on the NX tablet, vs the 4.2+ Teraflop PS4 neo.

It could hurt Nintendo if when its announced, and showed off they show games that look drastically worse than what the Playstation does.

if we talk about brands sony and Nintendo could do a conference the same day and release a trailer for a pokemon game on the nx, Nintendo would kill sony's conference. People already know what the Neo is, so NX would be a bigger story. Anyways, that's not going to happen cause that day there's a conference for the iphone too. So Nintendo is smart enough and Knows that a day with 3 conference is not going to give them the whole attention, and that's what they want. A date announcement would not harm sony or Nintendo, it's just a date.

I don't think so. I think only big Sony fans are really very excited about the Neo and big Nintendo fans excited for the NX. I know I would choose to watch the NX reveal.

NX being more tablet like, with a handheld hybrid console, are probably more of a competitor with apple phones, than a Playstation Neo is.

Yeah I dont see why Nintendo would choose do it on the same day.
The attention Playstation & Apple would take, would without a doubt hurt them.

3 tech companies all revealing new hardware on the same day? no way.

Then September 7th will be one heck of a day for electronic device lovers, Iphone 7, NX, and the Neo.

This reminds me when the Smash 3D demo released for Club Nintendo members the same day (or near the day) Destiny released. There were a few satirical articles about how much people wanted a code for the Smash demo.

But no, just a date wont do anything. It might benefit Nintendo doing it before the wave of Neo news, since the media would be paying attention to everything before the event begins. But why and how would that overshadow the announcements at the PS Event? (it's not just for Neo, btw. They'll probably unveil some VR games, price cuts, and all that fun stuff).

Of course Nintendo wants that to happen, but making it blatantly obvious is not the way to go

I dont think so, I think they will give reveal date weak after PS4 Neo announcement, so I expecting it for around they will gave revile date for around 10 days.
