Let me put it this way; I was a Nintendo fan for over twenty years.
After Wii U I'm reluctant to ever buy a system from them again.
I'd like to think I'm a pretty smart guy, so naturally I only buy a system after I know it'll satisfy me. I have yet to be wrong!

It's sad to see what's become of it. A couple of years ago, I thought about it becoming my favorite system ever. Now, well... Yeah... |
At this point, there's not much more they can do. I can't blame them for decreasing support at this time because sales are not going to go anywhere for them and NX is on the way so new assets are going to be transferred there (though at least BotW will at least be reelased on Wii U along with NX). 3DS is the console that is at least finding some life left, especially with Pokemon Go being a factor recently. HD development (along with developing for 3DS) must've took a toll on Nintendo and their dev teams, trying to pump out games the best they could, even if it means using old assets (which isn't really a new thing anyway). Hopefully, NX will be a bit easier on them due to their newfound experience.
Another reason to not buy their consoles anymore. Well done, Nintendo. You're not only killed Wii U, but continue to fuck its corpse.
Also they basically confirmed, that NX will get "Definitive" editions for all big Wii U exclusives. Mark my words.
I am very impressed by Nintendo's promise to make sure that "Wii U owners are satisfied" even though Wii U hasn't sold very well. Imagine being one of the 10M+ PS Vita owners to whom Sony just said, essentially, "Sorry, this system isn't selling well enough so we're not going to make games for it any more". Think about how Nintendo treats its customers in comparison...Their handling of the Wii U shows us that Nintendo cares about its customers regardless of how well their system sells, and it makes me much happier and confident to invest in a Nintendo product. Also, the same game on 3DS is not going to be of the quality of the Wii U version. These are ports to a less powerful system. Why does this make Wii U owners feel "betrayed"? It doesn't make sense.
I can't say Nintendo really treated WiiU owners badly.... but I just wish the whole console had never existed, now let me see if there's videos on youtube of people smashing and/or melting WiiU's with fire.
People still hating the WiiU, but that console still have the best amount of great exclusives this gen. Time will put everything in its place as usually, I still remember how everybody laugh and shit about the gc, completely blind of what they had just because they were thinking in what could had instead of what it actually had.

I'm not sure how "time will put everyone in its place". If anything the WiiU will get even worse with time.
WiiU does have the best exclusives still this gen, but exclusives aren't the only thing that matters, and as the PS4 will still be around for a good few years yet it'll probably overtake it in exclusvies in my eyes at least.
