There isn't a press release that I can find (it's a Japanese title), but here are the basics:

1) This title requires a monthly fee. No amount was given.

2) It's karaoke.

3) 1,000 songs are added to the list every month, with plans to expand the library up to 20,000.

4) When you pay your monthly fee, you have unlimited access to all songs in the service.

-Joysound : The retail packaging (handled by Hudson) will include a USB microphone, while the music distribution side (handled by Xing) will be downloadable from Wiiware. The service will be charged monthly. After the start of the service, 1000 songs will be added each month. They also plan to introduce a social networking service called "Uta Suki", allowing online communication, ranking, and cooperation. Seems like there is no pricing yet.

Let me repeat that, one more time: 1,000 songs added every month.

I'm not getting it, even if I liked the idea of this game. I refuse to pay for Wii online unless it is stellar in quality.

I like this idea a whole lot considering this will totally be better than any karaoke game to date given these little things. Such a great idea. Kudos to Hudson.

At least someone is thinking outside of the box for WiiWare games. In more ways than one.

Wow. That's a pretty impressive concept. It essentially puts a karaoke machine in everyones house with unlimited songs.

That's actually pretty damn impressive.

Just a really cool concept and unique in a lot of ways. When I first read this is I was like wow Singstar just got owned badly haha.

My first reaction was to laugh at Rock Band Wii, actually.

Yea well I don't even want to talk about Rock Band on Wii. All I wanted was online for it. I didn't even need DLC. But no, no fucking online, equals no buy for me unless its really cheap way down the line.

But this is a really good idea, and it will have online and a nice social network. Thank you Hudson for caring.
