Forums - Gaming - Metal Gear Survive will be less than $60, is a Spin-off to MGSV

It would have been fine to be cheap and focus on not attaching itself to a well loved and popular IP. I would have actually been interested if it had been an entirely new IP at that price, but since it's Konami trying to make bank on their now wasted engine, I just can't bring myself to care about buying it. It's using the MG IP the same way Capcom is with Umbrella corp with Resident Evil.

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

It seemed to me that this was going to be a DLC.Not the same, but still similar

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

Making the first metal gear game after Kojima leaving a spin off is a terrible move. They had to come out with something that looked great, as If to say. "Yeah Kojima's gone but that's not going to change Metal Gear, it'll still be the series you know and love!"

But they decided to pull this crap instead.

Holy shit, what's that? Looks just as terrible as Umbrella corps

Kaz, I'm already a spin-off...

I made a petition; just for "fun". :)

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

Just as I believed.

A $40/50 title. A spin off that's aiming to be fun and not a serious metal gear. now whether or not it turns out to be fun is a different matter altogether. But I'll give it a chance.

After this hopefully we get chapter 3 and metal gear rising 2. Although platinum are all booked up for now.

And then I'll take another mainline metal gear. The series has a lot of profit potential for Konami so no way will they not keep making it.

generally this is the kind of stuff that kills franchises though, the newer Resident Evil games have not really consistently done that great because of so many crappy spin offs

also its not a move that makes fans exactly trust Konami and feel comfortable. When you lose the person helming your most popular franchise you want to release something solid to make people more comfortable. You don't want to release a total tangent game that is likely not to be quality (sorry but coop zombie games usually are ehhh outside of Left 4 Dead), it shows that people should be worried

I don't see why people are crying about this. Looks good to me.

There were zombies in the last game and the gameplay was easily the best thing But it. The story was the worst.

If this new game sticks to what made the last game work, then I'm all in.

Honestly Metal Gear Rising 2 was the best thing they could have done. While not all MGS fans like Rising there is a decent size fanbase for it and PG are a trusted developer that we all respect. They basically had to distance themselves from the series for some time and let us slowly trust Konami to do the right thing in time. Instead they are making a cash grab spin off, they are basically just repackaging MGSV as a coop zombie shooter because why the fuck not. It cost little to make and is a popular genre. Easy money for no effort, except most of the fan base wants nothing to with it, I actually think they may be targeting non-fans who dont know or care for our hatred of Konami as much as they are the die hard MGS fans

Do you mean the newer spin offs?? Becaus e RE 5 and 6 are the 2 best selling games in the franchise, hell they are Capcoms 2 best selling games of all time
