Forums - Sony - PSNow Coming To PC (RUMOUR)

Haha look at people spinning this.

Anyway I don't think it will always be one gen behind. I think in future, for example PS5 gen they might upload games to it say 2 years after they've released and lost their retail value. So like how a dvd can be rented after it's released in the cinema.

Sounds alot like how Microsoft have been doing it for the past few years. Wait until the game drops value than rerelease it on PC to spark some more dollars. Its a smart move.

Meh, I dont think I will ever be interested in PSNow regardless of which platform its in... Nice for those that are interested in it tho

So sorta on topic sorta not. Is PSnow worth the money? I don't have a ps3 so most of the games would be new to me.

If most games will be new to you then it definitely is providing you have a somewhat decent Internet connection.

Well I got the free 7 days today and meh not gonna get it, I'll just get a ps3 at some point my internet is good but not great and at times it can be slow and I like having a collection anyways. Cool idea I just wish there was a way you could download the game

Perfect, because now people can enjoy Playstation and Xbox titles on much better hardware!

lmao man the ignorance and arrogance from PC players on this topic is amazing. It'll look and play the same as on the PS4/PS3. It's not dependant on hardware, just internet. And it's not like people are going to buy a PS4 or PS3 to play the games on PSNow so all you guys are going to do is support Sony.

yeah in the end you get a stream that maybe is so good like how the game would run on a ps3, in a way it's like remote play.

Cool for those that want to use it. I'm not a fan of the sub service let alone streaming games and I prefer having them downloaded and installed via a client I already use.

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

When I was in the PS Now beta, way back when, I played Bioshock Infinitel, only once did I have a streaming issue and it lowered the quality quite a bit but the response of controls and graphics the rest of the time was no different to having the disc and playing on my PS3 (I was on PS4 at the time). The service seems great but there are a few things I think need to improve it.

Being on PC will help Sony hugely, there are so many people that would be willing to play old PS games but don't own any PS console, this would be their chance. I would like the option to buy a stream version of a game mind you, so I could play it wherever, whenever I want forever but I understand why they do the rental/subscription model.

Hmm, pie.

Of course.

The move to PC was expected as soon as Sony bought Gaikai (and it became later Playstation Now). This is basically the PS5 or PS6 beta test, it seems to go smoothly until now if they're taking the next step.

I think the "service" will always stay 1 gen behinde.

When PS5 launches, maybe PSnow will be able to play PS4 games.

Exactly. Anyone thinking otherwise is fooling themselves. Sony is making so much money off of HW and SW, they're not abandoning all of that cash. And there's no way they are going to have people pay only $100 a year to stream all PS5 games. You know how much bandwidth and how many servers it would take if 100M+ people were wanting to play their PS5s, and the only way to do that was through streaming?

There's a reason nVidia and AMD keep making GPUs, while streaming services, like Gaikai and Onlive, either failed or saw little success. People prefer to upgrade their PC for the better experience, without having to worry about the fluctuating internet to handle their graphical output and controller input. Same goes for consoles. And really, the same could be said for phones. People don't stream their mobile games. They download them. And they continue to get better HW, either yearly or bi-yearly. HW is going to be around for a long time.
