Forums - Sony - Ghostbusters could lose Sony $70 million

The break even point is a lot more then $300 million dollars since they also spend $100 million in advertising the movie.

It had a few good lines from Chris Hemsworth's character. Strange how it was the women who were supposed to be the funny one's. Plus I remember seeing people posting pics of themselves in empty theaters. So I'm guessing word of mouth was practically non existent

sony have the perfect IP to make millions.... and this director has gone and #$%@ it up.

good. Ghostbusters is trash anyway.

They made the mistake of remaking a movie which was already mediocre. Ghostbuster's had an amazing crew to save it- the remake didnt.

I almost came out of hiding to shit on your opinion.

Whoops.

I don't mind if you disagree. not like you can't say so.

I like Bill Murray and thought he did a good job making the movie slightly enjoyable. Ghostbusters isn't my cup of tea.

12/22/2016- Made a bet with Ganoncrotch that the first 6 months of 2017 will be worse than 2016. A poll will be made to determine the winner. Loser has to take a picture of them imitating their profile picture.

Sony disputes the amount of the potential loss, insisting that revenue streams from merchandising and such attractions as a new Ghostbusters exhibit at Madame Tussauds and a theme park ride in Dubai will help defray any deficit. The studio also notes that the number of people renting the 1984 film has soared over the summer.

"This loss calculation is way off," says the Sony rep. "With multiple revenue streams, including consumer products, gaming, location-based entertainment, continued international rollout, and huge third-party promotional partnerships that mitigated costs, the bottom line, even before co-financing, is not remotely close to that number."

Will probably never get a sequel though...

Lol gaming? What games?

Next reboot/remake now in Hollywood is a remake of a remake with all female cast of the movie Ocean's Eleven.....

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

action ish type movie about female cast of con artists... that sounds good, much better than a all female cast of ghostbusters.

You could probably easily pull that one off Naum, and make it a good movie.

Social Justice Warriors, Feminazism, the Sodomite Agenda, it is all dying as the Obama era finally gets to a end. Good ridance.
