Why don't you just play 2v2 with the bots instead?

read above. They still only target humans. They will completely ignore your computer partner, and attack only you. I won a 2v2 match 6-1 without throwing a punch. I just ran back and forth while they chased me, and my computer partner racked up kills since they wouldn't even touch him.

Er... I don't see why FFA is fun against 3 bots anyway. The only way bots are fun (this is true in Melee as well) is in 1 on 1, and I never have trouble finding people to play online against (have you considered PMing people?). I've never used the random battle system. No need, there are literally dozens of people in my friends list to play against. I've also never had lag unless one of the people involved has a laggy connection.
To be honest Melee feels like a simply bad game now after Brawl. The balance is horrible, the game is full of cheap repeatable combos, and the AI is too stupid to EVER present a challenge.

I just ran a FFA with 3 bots... I didn't see your issue at all. After these online issues I'll record a match.

naz, I know you're the grand defender of brawl, but not everything in it is perfect.
Pick 3 random comps, and take sonic to eldin bridge and run back and forth trying to avoid the comps. They will only hit each other on accident and on occasion. If you don't see it, then you're must have a magical copy. I posted the same topic on Gamefaqs and everyone there saw it too. Comps only target humans, they won't fight each other unless they have to.

i've noticed that as well, its almost impossible to win if you are playing against comps

lol, further proof is the dragoon. If a comp gets dragoon parts it will only target you. One person on gamefaqs noted that he died, just as a comp was getting the dragoon parts. Rather than it attacking one of the other comps it actually had the cursor hovering over his respawned character on the platform waiting for him.
And yes, there is definately lag online. So much so, that wifi wars (a major competetive site for brawl and a few other Nintendo games) actually put up an article about how different tactics are needed to play online than off. Also

I noticed this too. The computers seek you out, and totally ignore everyone else. Good to see I'm not crazy...
