Forums - Gaming - One Person is Making This Game

Any great game made by one dude is something to always remember.

I'm just hoping this game has a good soundtrack. That'll make it even more badass.

Impressive effort. Also, illustrates the paradox of current game development: costs are simultaneously growing and shrinking supposedly. AAA companies claim that games are more expensive than ever to make and all the new tech costs a fortune to make use of. And yet, in reality, technology and programs have been becoming more and more intuitive and easier to access (UE4 IS FREAKING FREE!), making it easier and easier for independent developers to push their games further and further. So I guess what this really shows is how grossly inefficient AAA companies often are. Not that that should need illustrating, anyone with a class in business could predict such problems :P

I've seen it, yeah it's pretty fucking crazy lol.

I've got to say, this looks freaking epic. Inspired by FFXV, and Onimusha?

Yep, it was.

The game looks amazing, indeed.  It's kind of hard to believe only one person made this.

Holy hell that is awesome.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

that looks insanely good and the guy making it has some mega creative genes, a lot of the environments looked way cooler than what triple A developers come up for this type of game despite them having more tools and giant teams.....

rumor is this guy and his project have been picked up by a sizable developer, hopefully they keep it in the vain of how it is now. Gives me a SoC vibe with the world not being mega filled up but pretty (although obviously a lot more vibrant and a DmC sort of combat)

throw in a good story and some interesting NPCs with what he already has and eliminate the bugs and then you have a game that's better than 99.9% of what big developers do these days.

Saw a comment on the Youtube trailer that was totally spot on, something along the lines of one guy doing this awesome of a project shows that developers have no excuse for the shit they release. I mean one guy working on a project should not have a better looking loose game than the majority of what you see out there (even if he put a lottt of time into it).

Honestely great trailer and curious about the game world. Hope this ends up finished at some point and goes commercial

I have no words. This is simply insane. This looks just as good as FFVX which has employed hundreds to work on the title over the span of what, 6+ years!!! This guy is a freaking god or something.

I would argue in some respects it looks more interesting (environment wise) than FFVX. Which is kind of sad in a way for Square Enix (maybe it comes down to the fact that quantity is not always better than quality, i.e. just having a giant world on its own isn't necessarily going to make for a great beautiful experience)

game sucks

I mean, taking into consideration it's one guy supposedly, it still is very comparable to FFXV. Even the combat seems similar with a mix of Onimusha. From what I've seen the gameplay is smooth, the story is a bit cliche from what was shown, and the environments are extremely beautiful. I'm sure the game won't have a better story than FFVX, or even better gameplay but it's slightly below/on par with FFXV. The World seems big but when the main character used that dragon thing to fly, I just lost it. The game has character.

Looks fantastic!!!
