Disappointing Olympic Games due to very  low crowd attendances and the lack of new world records.

Some events/sports don't lend themselves to records, but can be impressive in other ways.  For example Simone Biles in Women's Gymnastics has been incredible to watch.

Hopefully Bolt will set a new world record by breaking 19 seconds in 200m.
Sub 19 seconds for 200m!

He's older now so I don't expect him to get it but when he broke all those records, I'm sure like many, I wondered 'What if he went properly all out?'

Hmm, pie.

Bold did say he is going to break the 200m WR so maybe he will. But he did go all out on the 200 both on Beijing and on the World Championship after it, he also did on the 100m on the World Championship.

I can't figure out the criteria you're using for the standings. The raw medal numbers add up correctly but the placement of the countries is not in the correct order.

Looks correct to me. Teams are ordered by gold medals first, then silver, then bronze. As Olympic medal tables always have been.

Ugh. It's too early, and what threw me off is almost embarrisingly stupid. My bad.

Sweden advance to the gold medal match in women's soccer taking a tough route to get there.

Sweden 1-0 South Africa
Sweden 1-5 Brazil
Sweden 0-0 China
Sweden* 0-0 United States
Sweden* 0-0 Brazil

* Advanced on penalties

For me the Swedish goalkeeper has been immense and guessing another tight one in the final against Germany/Canada likely going to penalties.

Fuck yeah, our keeper is playing insanely good atm.

Norway vs Sweden? Bit of a local rivalry there?

The Scandinavian female handball teams are pretty good. Ofc Norway is the best 9-2 after 14 minutes.

Amazing scene in Women's 5000m race

----------------------

New Zealand runner Nikki Hamblin tripped and fell to the track during the race, with American Abbey D'Agostino then tripping over Hamblin and falling to the ground as well. Hamblin lay there wondering what had happened when she felt D'Agostino's hand on her shoulder.

"Get up, get up! We have to finish!'' D'Agostino told her. "This is the Olympic Games. We have to finish this.'"

D'Agostino helped Hamblin up, and the two continued to run. Having injured her knee during the fall, D'Agostino was not running well and when Hamblin looked back to see if she could help, the American simply said, "Keep going, keep going.''

----------------

I know we get caught up in winning and medals, but sometimes the good sportsmanship and best of competition shines and is great to see.

19-7 after first half

Still some sloppy mistakes, but our team seems to be in great shape.
