USA proving yet again that we are better than any country at life.

In regards to something said earlier in the thread, I was ashamed when the truth came out about Lance Armstrong. Until that point I had always defended him in any argument, and believed the absolute best of him. I am sorry that one of my countrymen would sink so low. There is no excuse for doping in such high-stakes athletic contests.

I did not know any of that, there is so much going on in that region, I guess it makes sense: we are talking about milenar warrior civilizations that had advanced tech eons before the europeans. Now the whole place is a powder keg, between the south china sea debacle, the Tibet controversy, the japanese vs. china hate and the Koreas, it pains me to say, but I do not see a peaceful future in the long run...
While it is very impressive to be able to get 21 medals at the Olympics, the fact he can compete in like 5 or 6 events per Olympics does help.
Hmm, pie.

It is a shame, at a time when drugs was ruining the sport and most of the competitors from that era were stripped from their titles we had this one guys, who beat the odds, survived desease and still beat the cheats. The biggest issue people had with him wasn't that he cheated but that he lied. Many people believed in him and followed him as this great man and in the end it was all a lie. Even in discovery he was so arrogant, which was uncharacteristic of someone who had inspired many.
On the subject of Cycling, today is the cycling time trials, look forward to it. Tom Dumoulin and Froome being favourites me thinks but if it's anything like the road race, who knows if people fall.
Hmm, pie.
USA keeps dominating. Watching other countries try to compete is kinda cute tho.

Don't be that guy. There is a clear line between cheering on our country and belittling others.

But the other countries are little compare to US regarding success.
Can't believe that GB won a diving medal over the Chinese... what next? We win Water Polo?

Yeah, I know right? It's like you have a massive population, infastructure and resources to produce world winning sports athletes. Besides, you ever seen an olympics before, this always happens.

Sadly I bet his challengers did the same, just Lance was in the spotlight. |
All his main rivals were found out long ago and stripped of their second and third places, no one will take their places, it's like no one finished. Armstrong just stuck with the lie and was in the spotlight as it only recently came out and he was the winner, the socalled 'clean winner' in a time of cheats.
Hmm, pie.
