Between the HD consoles,it may be already set in stone that PS3 wins in Europe and Japan(this one is a 'duh') and the 360 wins in NA.

how does it win in NA, other then Gears its got nothign to hold of MGS GT FF K2 R2 Socom.

Do you really expect to see Final Fantasy 13 in stores this year?...  And didn't they say not to expect Gran Turismo 5 until next year?  This is living?  More like this is waiting is you ask me...  I'm sure everyone is waiting for Killzone 2, the sequel to the critically acclaimed Killzone 1...  It's great though that Sony is bringing out some first person shooters, there has been a real drought in that genre for the past two years.

Here're some of the 360 games coming out this year:

Gears of War 2
Fable 2
Banjo Kazooie 3
Tales of Vesperia
Ninja Gaiden II
Halo Wars
Too Human
Splinter Cell: Conviction
Grand Theft Auto IV: Episode 1

Just my view but in Europe I think only GTA and (maybe) GOW2 has a chance of shifting consoles out of that lot.  Given 360 sales on back of GOW then the Halo 3 boost I think most people in Europe who would want those games will already have a 360.

It's a great lineup for existing owners, and I could of course be wrong ... but like I say only GTA really looks like getting new owners (over and above the baseline sales) for the console.

Due to where PS3 is in its lifecycle in Europe (entering 2 year vs where 360 is) the general feeling is that the big games this year have a larger potential base to reach out to and are therefore more likely to generate better console spikes (this is my view anyway).

Some of those I'm sure will be from existing 360 owners as most I know are happy to have both and they don't seem to have any particular anti-PS3 view : 360 was just out first and had great games so they bought it, now that PS3 is picking up they'll buy that too.

I think if Banjo Kazooie 3 is good it stands a chance of helping to move consoles simply because the system doesn't have a major AAA game in that genre.  Fable 2 and Tales of Vesperia help to make the system attractive to RPG players who may still be on the fence because of the system's price, these games may be what puts them over the edge to buying one.  GTAIV : Episode 1 (or whatever it'll be called) is coming out near the end of the year and may help attract people who're picking up a system for Christmas to play GTAIV.

The 360 already has so many FPS and racing titles that I think the games I have listed have a better chance of bringing more people to the system simply because they're helping to make other genres on the system stronger.

Just my view again but I doubt Fable 2 can add many owners that haven't already gone for LO, Mass Effect, Blue Dragon (and of course Fable 1).

As for BK like other MS family titles it's problem is there is no way it can compete with Wii and Wii games in that demographic - again I can see it adding a few owners but nothing significant.

I'm not beating down on 360 - I just think from what I see only two titles have a chance of giving it a significant shot in the arm at this stage it its lifecycle, which are GTA and GOW2.

At this stage games that maybe add a few thousand new owners are nothing.  What matters are games that could add big spikes, with tens of thousands of new owners.  That's where I see a line between nice new titles and potential system sellers.  I think PS3 is in roughly same position - a smaller number of titles that have a chance of big spikes with most simply expanding the games library.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...
