Hey Joe, do we have an answer if planets rotate?

Well the patch made the stars move, but now it's even more confusing.

On Earth/a real planet, technically the stars+sun+moon+planets are stationary during the night. Instead it's just Earth spinning which makes it look like everything else is moving.

Well in NMS with the new patch, the stars move during night. But they appear to move at a different rate than the sun. And moons/planets don't move or else they move really slow. So it confirms they are faking it and my idea with the Sun "orbiting" the planets is true.

It's still possible the planets ALSO rotate, but we'd need a timelapse from a planet surface looking up at another planet/station to know for sure.

Planets do not rotate nor do they orbit.  Seems it works exactly like I theorized.

Yeah after playing it's definitely faked.

Planet sizes!!!!!

Cause I'm too hyped to do anything productive

The largest planet I found a picture of is "Paradise" at 250 thousand Ks. If one Ks equals 50 meters, then that would make it the size of Earth.

How are you calculating planet size?

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

Model a scaled version of the planet+camera, and then use the in-game distance as a scale factor.
