Nintendo hardware sold best last generation.  So Sony and MS should have dropped out and joined Nintendo?

Hell, they should all drop and go PC if sales potential is the stipulation.

why talk about last gen, when we are in this one?

These forums usually talk about previous gens in relations to future gens. I mean didn't fans dismiss the DS and Wii due to the GameCube's failure and thinking touch screens wouldn't work or be attractive?

Any examples of said fans?

Probably put it out wrong, my bad. More like the press and media. And in a way, they were right initially as DS sales were slow to start as mentioned in news and even in Iwata's Gaming Historian doc.

You are actually kinda supporting my post.

Ratchet & Clank, Rayman Legends, Plants vs Zombies, Skylanders, Disney Infinity, Lego games all sell in the 1-2 million range on PS4/XBO, the same goes for most racing, JRPG & fighting games so there is nothing to suggest that the likes of Mario, Kirby, Donkey Kong, Yoshi, Mario Kart, Splatoon, Smash Bros, Pokemon, Fire Emblem, Captain Toad, Luigi's Mansion, Kid Icarus, Animal Crossing, Tomodachi, Mario Party Xenoblade, etc. would have large increases.

And if PS4/XBO owners also own a 3DS/Wii U to play these games than that just further supports what im saying.

So you're saying that they wouldnt play the Ninty games since they have something similar on the system? If people are buying the Ninty systems just to play the games and they already have a PS4/xone why wouldnt they just buy those Ninty games if it came to their system?

You are completely missing the point. Nintendo games would likely still sell like Nintendo games, what im saying is that most of them probably wont see any massive increase in sales because the market for these genres is small on PS4/XBO.

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

I would point out how great Sega, Atari and SNK have done since going from first to exclusively third party. Those that claim sales and even quality would follow when Nintendo would be losing the inside edge of having control and exclusive knowledge of the hardware they use would mean there would be a drop in quality.

I get what your saying but i would argue that Nintendo has always been way higher in terms of quality than any of those 3. Sega is debatable but the other 2 not so much.

I was thinking this too until the recent rumours about the NX... They are being different. They need to be. They don't have the muscle of money the other companies have.

Let's see how the NX plays out. I think it could be wildly successful. 50 million + Worldwide.

DS not so much, Wii yeah, but why ignore the gen that we just had where Ninty;s home console was not doing too hot, makes sense to compare the most RECENT gen.

i only half agree. I do agree that the sales wouldnt increase that much but not becasue genres is small on PS4/XBONE (which is not true anyway) but because those Ninty games have a ceiling anyway. Zelda for example does about 5-7 mil max no matter the install base.

It's because Nintendo are holding their great games hostage with terrible consoles that no one wants. At least Sony and Microsoft make attractive consoles.

I've become pretty comfortable with the whole Nintendo console thing and amiibo ecosystem, so it's doesn't bother me.

The reason I say Nintendo should go 3rd party is because its hardware does not sell well. this hinders its potential sales of games.
As for microsoft I dont really care because they dont do games I really wanna play.

As for sony as long as its hardware keeps doing well then they should stay as is.

that was the exception not the rule. Also Nintendos games are far superior to the hardware they produce.

Its like having a woman with a beautiful face and a ugly body.

Nobody's perfect. I aint nobody!!!
