Only Apple can be significantly down YoY have numbers in line with fairly low expectations yet get a bounce in share price. I guess being slightly above expectations is better than being slightly below. But did people forget that the expectations were low to start with, so beating them isn't exactly amazing.

They are still making more money and more profit than pretty much anyone else, so there is that.

Shares were already priced with the expectation of being massively down YoY and are priced according to investor expectations, they got a bounce as the results were bad but investors were expecting awful. Same thing happens to any company that exceed expectations so not really anything unusual. Still very profitable making a ton of money, they just have a very uncertain future around growth and even holding onto their market.

Hopefully that means that the next iPhone isn't AU $1,350.

Oh come on you know it will be. With the rumor of a pro version of the 7 it may even get more expensive for the best one.

6s Plus 128GB is currently $1529 at JB

To be fair it's not like the others are cheap. Samsung is always close behind and even HTC, Sony and LG launched their latest flagships above $1000. Guess the difference is they drop to like $600-700 in like 6 months.

Too bad there is no iPhone 7 this year, the downward trend will continue until late 2017. In addition, the Macbook Pro line up has not seen a refresh in too long. Tim response to the falling iPad sales was slapping the "pro" label and a price bump, genius.

People talk about "rethinking" the smartwatch, I think they should tell Apple to rethink their tablets, it's time you give them superpowers, the drop isn't too bad actually this time around, there is a market for it, the Pencil was a good start but you shouldn't stop.

Smartwatches will remain a niche no matter who makes them, the technology is too immature to something meaningful out of such small products.

The SE line up may not be too tempting now, the majority of smartphones users think they are too tiny, but in the future, the line up will make much more sense, the current 6S with update internals will be sold at much cheaper prices .

Services now accounts for 11 percent of total revenue, insane.

Cook: Incredible testament to the App Store and the ability for a developer to offer an app with the press of a button; shows that AR can be really great and Apple sees great opportunities for it; Apple is going high on AR

On another note, not related to only iPhones, but the future of all premium smartphones. I think the Moto Z has already made the case for how accessories can play a bigger role into morphing smartphones to more than what they are right now.

Imagine if you could slap all sorts of cheap peripherals that make use of the processing powers in your hand, AR headsets, controllers, projectors and things I can't think of.

The funny thing is, the Moto Z probably won't sell all that well, so it's mod functionality will fly under the radar. But Apple will implement it and everyone will be all "Wow! Apple so innovative. We love you Steve Jobs, even death doesn't stop him from innovating"

Sigh... so typical.

Apple introduced a magnetic connector with their latest iPads in late 2015 and early 2016, and rumors have been circulating about the connector making its way to the iPhones since then, and it's going to happen. Apple is notorious for introducing new technologies in one of their product and then port it to the others. Force Touch was first introduced with the Apple Watch, after that, it was ported to the Macbook, shortly after it was implemented in the latest iPhone. Touch ID was first introduced with the iPhone 5s, shortly after, it made its way to the iPad. The True Tone feature that was introduced with iPad Pro 2016 is making its way to the next iPhone. Examples are many.

Back to the magnetic connector, they call it the smart connector, and it's even better than the one in the Moto Z, because once the peripherals are attached, they borrow from the iPads battery and you don't need to worry about charging them at all. Not to mention, third party manufacturers don't have to worry about including batteries or any power source in their peripherals either.

One more thing you can do with the connector is connecting it to a charger and it will charge the iPad, so now you have two ways to charge iPads. That can't be done with the Moto Z connector.

Read your post again now, and tell me if you still think it's "funny" or "original". Do your homework before accusing others of being bandwagoners, it's very ironic because it's exactly what you did, and even worse, you did it based on a false assumption.
