Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

The IP has certainly grown since the last good games, I think a smartly made fighter would likely be very successful if placed in the right hands to create. Especially if you mix it with other successful IP that had great films, such as the mentioned Deadpool or Guardians of the Galaxy. Would be pretty fun playing as Groot/Rocket combo :D.

On the other hand, a lot of more recent games already have mutant like protagonists in them, in various genres. So you got to ask yourself, how unique would this game be [ gameplay wise ] outside of the fighter genre.

There was a really awesome Wolverine gamecube game back in the day where you could track enemies from their scent and stealth kill them. That game was the shit.
