Forums - Sony - Months later, what are your thoughts on Uncharted 4

I never played multi player so I'm only going to speak about single player campaign.

At the time, it was the most beautiful game ever made. I felt compelled to play it nonstop until the end and savor each moment.  Now I look at it and it feels kind of hollow. I don't have any bad memories. I actually done have and emotions about Uncharted 4 at all. I guess it didn't resonate with me.

How about you? Best game ever? Beautiful but shallow? The new gold standard? Now that the hype and the newness have worn off, what are your honest thoughts. Feel free to post spoilers.

It's very much like the rest of the series: technically brilliant and gorgeous to look at but torn in two competing directions. Part of it wants to be a cinematic roller coaster and part of it wants to be cover-based shooter. When those things overlap well, as they did in Uncharted 2, the results are spectacular. When cinematic pretensions spill over and affect negatively gameplay, as they did in Uncharted 3, the overall experience suffers.

Uncharted 4, for me, is the most Uncharted-iest of all the Uncharted games. It's beauty and technical achievement is staggering, and its tactical shootouts are thrilling. But all too often it transforms into something you watch instead of something you play, and that's not what I want in a video game. So, overall, Uncharted 4 is an excellent game that's held back from greatness by its deep focus on cinematic storytelling.

I still keep thinking I should finish it, but I really have no desire to play it, it bores me to no end. I must have got the Platinum for Uncharted 1 and 2 four different times when they first came out, I guess that was enough Uncharted for one life time. (same thing for gears franchise)

FOUR different times? Jesus, anyone would be bored.

I find it very boring as a game to be honest. Nothing beats the second one.

It was ok. It didn't resonate like TLOU with me which was my reference point before playing. I had just played the ND collection before it (first time ever playing those games) but I think I enjoyed those above part 4.  The MP was fun but didn't hold my attention very long.

I felt like it was missing something.

l <---- Do you mean this glitch Gribble?  If not, I'll keep looking.

I am on the other side of my sig....am I warm or cold?

Marco....

its for sure better than 3. 3 was just too action heavy. This one had a better balance in gameplay. Still not better than 2.

Multiplayer is like if Uncharted had a baby with Last of US. Its starting to grow on me. Its not as fast paced as U3 which felt like a 3rd person COD. Needs more modes.

I could never think of a good PSN name, and ended up hating all the ones I made, and I was super cereal into getting Trophy  and Acheievements at the time.

I plated all the Uncharteds except 4 (even the Vita one). I might not even plat 4, i really dont feel like doing a speed run

You can do the speed run with only playing 1 chapter or something simple like that, it may have been patched though, you'd have to check.
