Forums - Nintendo - Best Nintendo exclusive franchise

It is Pokemon for me. I was a fan of the older games till they became repetitive and felt similar, but it captured me for a few years and was addictive initially. I've mostly played Nintendo's older games and the rest didn't capture me at all, though Mario Kart is fun.

Around the Network

Lock thread.

Probably Metroid, since they're the only games that haven't been tainted much by modern Nintendo, and the overall franchise still retaining its artistic integrity while being fun and memorable games.

Pokemon is the Call of Duty of RPGs, nothing but an easy way to make money with no artistic integrity nor a lot of creativity put into creating a memorable experience. Plus that twin games thing needs to go, it's outdated, and I find really insulting that Nintendo keeps doing that instead making 1 game with a lot of extra polish, get rid of that and I might consider checking their next game out.

Mario could have been a strong contender for best Ninty IP, but modern Nintendo seems to be very stubborn in wanting to ruin Mario in every single aspect, so no.

Kirby is arguebly one of the best, games keep adding to the Kirby formula in just enough to spice the experience up each game, at least compared to Ninty's usual practices when it comes to making sequels, especially nowadays. Plus, you can always count on the games for them to be a fun time, that's always repectable.

Zelda, eh, still don't get it, they're pretty boring and very blandly designed games (and sometimes I'd say they're even badly designed), Breath of the Wild seems like it might be the first truly good Zelda, since it's stepping out of its comfort zone and actually trying to evolve what 3D Zelda is about, instead of just maintaining a standard everyone has already surpassed. But, anyway, the series is still respectable in a way, not for the amazing quality of its games, but for them to have always retained their artistic integrity and knowing better than to plaster everything with its name in order to make a quick buck, and also its ambition to always provide memorable and somewhat unique experiences with every tittle.

Smash, it's Smash, it's fun, it's not milked to death, but it stopped being ambitious after what happened with Brawl, and still remains the go-to game to play when you play on a Nintendo console and shows a very high level of polish and quality with each tittle. Still, wouldn't call it anything amazing, but it'd still rank just below Kirby in my list.

That's what I judge from what I've played, but when it comes to personal preference, I'd say that Mario still holds the crown for me, even if I hate everything he's in nowadays.

I'm now filled with determination.

My favorite is Star Fox, but if I have to say which one is the Best, it's between Mario and Luigi, and Legend of Zelda. No bad games.

The Legend of Zelda or Xenoblade Chronicles. Epic adventures with amazing music and captivating worlds that have generally pushed the systems they've appeared on to the max. Zelda games, and now Xenoblade too, are the ones that make me HAVE to own each new Nintendo system.
