I think it's silly to release it weaker than the xbox scorpio.

Everyone says power doesn't matter but it does.

If you are staring at two devices that share 90% of their game library, have similar media capabilities and are priced within reason of one another why not choose the more powerful piece of electronics? I will.

Who cares about the Scorpio at this point? It won't come out for another ~17 months. The Neo is rumored to come out this year. I dont think many will care about Scorpio's 4K capabilities because not many have 4K tvs and still wont by holiday 2017. If your XBone games look the same, but just rendered in 4K like Spencer said, it'd be a major dissapointment.

People want better graphics, effects, better performance, maybe downsamping, I hope the NEO delivers just that at 1080p.

If it's an upgrade to the ps4 I'd hope it did 4k as it already does quite well on games as is.

No one knows what it is anyways. Maybe the Neo is similar to the xbox one s and yet another beast is to be released next holiday similar to scorpio.

At this point I believe little of what Spencer says.  It's his job to say what needs to be said at any given moment in time.

l <---- Do you mean this glitch Gribble?  If not, I'll keep looking.

Smart move on Sony's part. It'll sell regardless of whatever is under the hood. It could be 2 hamsters on a wheel chasing a potato on a string. Sony will advertise it like its the second coming and it'll sell millions. Even if it doesn't, they already got 40 million people invested in the Sony ecosystem. They're not gonna change brands just because Scorpio destroys Neo in power.

40% differnce between a PS4neo and a XB1Scorpio... destroys?

Still.... PS4neo will be 399$ and most are saying scorpio will be over 500$.

When it comes to selling consoles Price is always more important.

Usually the more expensive & powerfull console dont sell more units than the cheaper one.

Yes. destroys. Its a gap that is big enough that Sony is trying to figure out new techniques to hide that its not native 4k. At least according to the document. And who knows? Scorpio could retail for $400. The RX480 shows that power can be cheap.

But what is clear is that Sony needs to take advantage of the gap before Scorpio launches.

Proportionally the difference between a 4.2TF neo and 6TF Scoprio is almost identical to the difference between a 1.31TF XBO and 1.84TF PS4, so yeah it's not exactly "destroys". If the Scorpio "destroys" these reported neo specs then the PS4 "destroys" the XBO, which is quite the exaggeration.

Scorpio has 42% more TFLOPS than the NEO, meanwhile the PS4 has 410% more TFLOPS than the WiiU. The WiiU gets "destroyed" with the gap being proportionally 10 times larger. Not that the WiiU still isn't capable of outputting some great looking games.

When one is launching this year and another 12months later, power parity is not realistic.Beyond that, power is important but being the most powerful isnt important if there is barely a visible difference. Both systems are gonna be running ports of games optimised for 1-2tflop Gpus. Developers aren't going to make use of 4Tf let alone 6.

Lastly price is obviously very important and Sony might aswell go for the price advantage and early start instead of chasing after Xbox, that's not something market leaders do.

This is a good thing, going for Native 4k is a complete waste of specs. If Scorpio goes native 4k it's games will look worse than Neo's.

I hope that's fake. If not, Scorpio will annihilate the PS4 Neo.

Yeah like the classic Xbox annihilated the PS2...

How exactly does this power gap between Neo and Scorpio matter when PS4 is 20m units ahead and the main console of choice? Seriously Neo is clearly no different to a redesign going by that so called leak as no game will be exclusive to it as it's not a successor just another SKU, if Scorpio does have more power it doesn't mean it'll magically sell 20m units over night and catch the PS4 , worse case scenario if Sony does have a hit to their momentum they ready the PS5.

Yes... PS2 was hiding in the sands in fear of Xbox being a lot more powerfull than it.

The ps2 had the advantage of being a dirt cheap dvd player. Streaming services killed the media advantage playstation had. Even if you factor in 4k bluray, the Xbox 1 S is a cheaper option. Sony's biggest advantage is the time gap between launches.
