I'm being completely honest here...I do not think it looks good.  My first reaction was that it was really jaggy.  Granted, I am spoiled by looking at PSP games.  But, how can you say it looks good just because it's 3D?  If it's bad looking 3-D, I'm not sure it matters...I think it would look better in 2D. 

The N64 games look terrible now compared to current games, so I guess even if it is that powerful, the PSP being about as powerful as the PS2 is certainly much better.  I'm not hating on DS games, I just disagree that the graphics are good for this game.

As for sales, FF: CC only sold 1.36 million on the GC.  I'm not sure it will beat PSP's best selling game, GTA: Liberty City Stories, that sold 3.85 million (someone suggested it would sell better than any PSP game, in case you are wondering why I say this).  I guess it'll beat Need For Speed Most Wanted (1.41 million).

However, no way it beats FF7: Crisis Core for the PSP.  GoW: Chains of Olympus might beat it as well (Japan is nuts for DS, so who knows).  We'll see.

I just can't say that is good 3-D graphics. 

looks good for a DS title I guess...not that would really know since I don't own one.

1. Lol, the PSP fanboys can't have the numbers on their side so they'll make sure as hell that everyone knows they have the graphics.

2. No one was saying the N64 was good for modern graphics in game consoles and yes you are hating on the DS because you're clearly ignoring the point of us measuring this game based on its platform's potential.

3. DS isn't the Gamecube. Gamecube only sold 25m units, DS is quickly approaching 45m in a third that time and shows no signs of slowing. And if you think the FF brand name won't carry any title on the DS regardless its linneage you're sorely mistaken.

4. PSP better pull out all the stops because it sure as hell isn't winning any fans as it stands now.

let's just talk about gameplay and stop arguing about graphics. ds owners will always compare games to ds hardware, psp owners will always compare it to "nice graphics", so why don't we all discuss about gameplay. it's how fun it is that matters, right? ;)

As I said initially "I think this game look pretty good for the DS". You need to look at the aesthetics of the game and compare to normal/typical DS games and in that respect, it looks pretty good. No, it doesn't look great compared to FF on the PS2 or PS3 or even PSP for that matter, but comparing to what DS games normally look like in 3D, it does look good.

This looks pretty good for DS! U can compare it to Metroid prime: Hunters or FF III.

But i'm not gonna pick it up! Cause i have to save cash: Why?! I have to buy some magic the gathering cards for a national tournament... On which im participating! (For everyone who knows magic the gathering: Im playing Legacy format... Vial goblin deck!

Back on-topic: This is definitely a huge step forwards for 3th party devs... And they should appropriately addapt their graphics to it...!

Just got FF3 DS today (in the mail), and I am pretty impressed so far. It does feel like a console game (and a "hardcore" one at that) - the sort of game I would more expect to find on the PSP (minimal touch screen support, etc..). Makes a nice change, and its good to see what developers can do on the DS graphics-wise.
