Forums - Gaming - The most unfair Game Overs you've ever experienced

There's a segment of the Earth Temple in Skyward Sword where a boulder falls and you must run away from it, Indiana Jones style. The thing is that the camera is in front of and extremely close to Link so you can see the boulder you're running away from. In order to escape it, you need to run off into an alcove pathway which is very narrow, so in anticipation you'll miss it by only a little or completely miss it altogether, and you'll get an instant game over.

Or maybe I just suck.

That one got me too. Only time I died in Skyward Sword. I thought it was pretty cheap as well.

I was playing Killzone 3 on the hardest difficulty, and really enjoying it. Probably about 75% done, and got to an on-rails vehicle segment. It was still, to this day, the most unfair, awful thing I have experienced in recent memory. Even players who passed it told me it was basically luck that they got past it. You could be spot on with everything over and over and still fail. Brutal. Ruined that playthrough for me. I smartly stopped trying, because I quickly realized what was going on.

No More Heroes, indeed.

This insta-kill was so damn cheap. You just don't know the first time you're playing.

Every sonic game

You're supposed to go fast, and yet you fall off cliffs or get hurt if you do so.. what the hell Sega? Should we go fast or slow?

12/22/2016- Made a bet with Ganoncrotch that the first 6 months of 2017 will be worse than 2016. A poll will be made to determine the winner. Loser has to take a picture of them imitating their profile picture.

And you don't even have to attack her, getting close is enough, if I remember correctly.

The thing is that when I was fighting her it looked suspicious so I moved away, but how long it takes her to stand up again? Three? Four hours? So I thought "to hell with this, I'm still at full life".

Bayonetta, I wasn't prepared for some of the worst quicktime events I've ever experienced in any game. I played through Bayo 2 before trying Bayo 1. Loved Bayo 2, did not enjoy the first one.

Yesterday my WiiU just froze in the middle of a pretty awesome Binding of Isaac run. I consider that an unfair game over. :(

Pokemon Yellow version having Brock be the first gym leader. Before my cousin told me to catch a Caterpie and train it into a Butterfree, I would grind Pikachu to level 30 before I could beat Onyx..

I think the first Bayonetta and it's quick time events are the kings of unfair game overs.

Damn right. I played that game on the hardest difficulty and I rarely died, but that motorcycle jump at the end with the quicktime even prompt, I had to repeat that shit a lot of times.

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:
