Forums - Nintendo - Mugen no Frontier: Super Robot Taisen OG Saga Japanese Trailer

Haha Calamity Sword, I Choose you! That's a new one to me.

Also Kyosuke isn't THAT bad at range.  The baby.

If you spent his PP wisely he was.  Practically every weapon on the Alt Eisen was Melee (even half the shooting weapons O.o).

Btw, why in the trailer the characters themselves fight and not their robots? Or do you get them later?

Do remember my WTF?  Yeah, it's because Saga isn't going to be a normal SRW game.

This thread is still alive with so many replies and I have never heard of this game before.

Wait...after seeing the trailer again I notice there ARE robots but they just kinda fight along side you. Teh characters aren't actually in it unless one is out fighting normally and one in the robot but it doesn't appear like the other vids WoW and Kasz posted, but they've already explained that.

Btw, why do they have to show their boobs when making big attacks lol?

I'd imagine because the series started off basically as a fanservice crossover of a number of Robot Anime series that they decided to swich over to another kind of fanservice.

Either that or it might just be the new tech... as i remember some of the characters in SRW J being unnessisairly bouncy... a couple of the OG characters do have weird personalties like that in a joking way.

The GBA games are worth trackin down if you can find em.

Hah, it's probably just been a while since I gave him a gun.  I usually try to stick him in the R-Blade with a Rocket Launcher to handle any attacks out of range.

R-Blade being my favorite... I know... his horrible dodging is a bad fit, but i've got my reasons.

New tech? lol I guess they're just going back to their roots...maybe.

Well by that i mean, the other games were pretty simple, the OG games were a lot more Animated and the like. As was J.... I think. Before that there were still animations but they were way more simple.

This new one... the OG saga looks like it's going to be a more traditional RPG game from the setup.  Which won't be horrible, and probably explains why Monolith was brought in to help.

Wonder if there will be colection angle with the robots.  I hope so, it'd give a reason for the free roaming.  The one thing I hate in RPGs is when they give you HUGE areas to explore, yet ut nothing in them but villagers who have nothing important to say with no treasure or anything.

Ah, i see it's the first time you saw the weirdness of this game in action. Yeah as a fellow SRW fan i have no clue what to make of the game.

At all.

Never a fan of the OG series.  The reason I love SRW so much is because my favorite robots are in the game.

I will stick to the original SRW series until this franchise dies (the day people of "my generation" stop buying games)......

@WoW

Epic. I hope if I enjoy this one (I probably will) they make one (maybe just the OG saga...) for the Wii.

Also, question. Those vids you posted are battle scenes, right (HP bar, etc.)? They just look like regular cutscenes lol. I don't get it.

If they make a console SRW game (a real one) and localize it for the US/UK... I will own the console it's for.

Period.

Those are battle scenes. Every battle scene in SRW is like a cutscene... just some attacks are flashier than others. Think of it like Fire Emblem, only instead of having 1 attack per character... you have half a dozen or more. ^_^

I wouldn't get your hopes up WoW. GBA game sales worldwide were what? Under 500K? I can't imagine there is a whole lot of incentive to localize these games anymore.

That's why I'm hopin it goes PS3. As this is the one series i'm not above importing. If you end up liking the battle system for an SRPG it's really easy to memorize the couple minor details you need in the spirit special skills.

You do lose the cool story though.

It will come to PS3, but god knows when......

Why not getting the PSP ports?  SRW-MX on PSP is excellent except the long loading time.  SRW-A remake on PSP will be released in June, I hope they will make it load faster.  From the current revealed information, this game looks awesome.

I haven't played SRW-W on DS yet, is it good?

i have to say it

boobs

ok im good

I have to say that's the main reason OG series remains very popular in Japan/Asia.

The new fans those "boobs" drawing in made up the loss of some hardcore SRW fans.
