As someone who's never played the franchise before, this looks really cool hehe. I take it those of you who have been playing it don't like the look?

It's more... imagine you were about to watch a trailer for the next Ace attorney game. Then in all the gameplay vids it looked more like a traditional puzzle game...

Like Tetris or something. Also nothing in the game other then how the people look is familiar.

It's not that tetris is bad. You just wonder... why?

I see. Well, I hope it turns out good (and makes it over here). Though I'm guessing the licensing for a game like this is extremely difficult and the devs may not think it worth the effort.

Well it's the OG series so it's not such a big deal. In the OG series all the characters are original Banpresto characters so you don't have to go through any messy liscensing deals.

So it should be just liscensing any other game... if anyone wants to do so.

Eh?  I know I saw KOS-MOS in there.  She's not Banpresto is she?  Oh but duh... as I was typing this I realized this game was made by Monolith... who deveoped Xenosaga, and thus owns the rights to KOS-MOS.  Well I'm a bit slow.

Here's the look at real SRW games.  (SRW is all about over-the-top attacks ^_^)

Yeah, but this game seems to have taken out tje map... and the over the top stuff seems to be it all... in some weird combo game. Or maybe it's just how it looks to me.

More main stream anyway. Other SRW over the top attacks 9 times outta 10 were just the most powerful attack or a combo attack.

Are those above from the PS1 games? Never imported those because i don't enjoy modding.

And wow.  This is one case where the graphics really do make a difference.  Well more so the music. The music is even better then it is in the Gameboy advance games.

Those are the PS2 games, they're simply amazing.

...so did they really take the s out of the sRPG?

Pretty cool WoW, but none of the ones that use licensed characters have ever been localized have they?

Sadly they haven't though the OGs (which I fully recommend) were translated for the GBA.  Must-have games for any sRPG fan.  ^_^

That's what the youtube battle video looks like to me.  I can't be for certain though.  Might just be a demo or battle mode.  Like some of the Fire Emblem games have had.

Epic. I hope if I enjoy this one (I probably will) they make one (maybe just the OG saga...) for the Wii.

Also, question. Those vids you posted are battle scenes, right (HP bar, etc.)? They just look like regular cutscenes lol. I don't get it.

If they make a console SRW game (a real one) and localize it for the US/UK... I will own the console it's for.

Period.

Those are battle scenes.  Every battle scene in SRW is like a cutscene... just some attacks are flashier than others.  Think of it like Fire Emblem, only instead of having 1 attack per character... you have half a dozen or more.  ^_^
