Most likely secret Sony fans who pretend they like Nintendo

nah, there was some genuine Nintendo fans too. They may want it to flop so that GameFreak don't start focusing on mobile games at the expense of the real Pokemon games on consoles like oh so many other Japanese devs have...

Didn't Niantic work on the game, not GameFreak?

It looks pretty underwelming, but I'm sure it will be fun going to places to catch new Pokemon

I hope the file size isn't as massive as Miitomo or I won't be getting it :p

A lot of Nintendo fans were hoping it flopped

That's why you made this thread then? xD

You probably saw 2 or 3 nintendo fans hoping it flops and you made it bigger in your head, I haven't see any of that , quite the opposite, I have seen more hype than anything else.

Open your eyes then, there's some in this thread and another pokemon thread the day before.

So that's why you made this thread, because you saw a total minority that didnt want this to be succesful, well, congrats, most fans however are glad to hear this.

He is Austrilian, news coming from there about Pokemon Go is a bit funny. Give him the benefit of the doubt.

Well im living here but im not Australian :P  news here and in nz has been crazy. I've never seen a game explode like this.

I don't see much of it in America.

I know it's still super popular in Japan. If I recall, the five most popular animes were Pokemon, Yokai watch, Yugioh, Naruto, and something else.

Of course you're not going to see it if you don't go to events, no one wants to bee seen playing Yugioh otherwise. :L

Just a couple years ago they had a ton of record breaking tournament turnouts. The average regional tournament size in Maryland/Virgina used to be around 150, now it's 300+. I don't know how popular it is here compared to Japan, but most of the money Konami makes off this game comes from the West.

Also the Pokemon show is still popular, seriously!? o_O

If it turns out very successful it might just lure Nintendo properly to the android and iOS scene.

I believe there lies their future so it'll happen sooner rather than later.

Like Miitomo... give it a month or two before claiming it a hit. Casual games like this tend to explode and then collapse quickly.

except Pokemon is way more universally popular and catchy with fans than something like Miitomo. no one gives a shit about the Mii or Wii avatars or whatever. that's reality.

something like Charmander and Pikachu though? everyone through a bunch of ages is fond of Pokemon. Walk into any Hot Topic or Toy Store on the planet and there will be Pokemon cards and toys and plushes all over.

Pokemon is an anamoly, I would be shocked if this isn't a continual hit. hell I'm not even the biggest Pokemon fan and hate downloading games/apps for my phone BUT am seriously considering trying this. walking around capturing Pokemon in real life and battling other people? how awesome does that seem, even if digitally.
