The announcement that Disney is canceling Disney Infinity was a shock to me. I spent a lot of money collecting the DI figures and power discs only to find out the game is going to shut down. The servers for the game will probably be shut down at the end of the year, leaving the best part of the game, toybox creation broken and useless. Seriously this is a major blow to everyone that was collecting the figures and playing the game.

And one day, sitting broken hearted looking at my soon to be useless Disney collection I said to myself "Up yours Disney. Time to go back to the leader and innovators of toys to life. Time to go back to Skylanders." 

I always stayed one year behind on the Skylanders games and knew that mid to late summer was the best time to get good deals on last year's starter packs and figures because the new game is coming out in October. So I got a massively marked down starter pack for Superchargers. Also picked up a bunch of characters and vehicles for $4.00 each. I'm having a blast with the game. High production values with tons of content, and extremely fun to boot.

My useless Disney figures are going in for trade with little to no remorse from me. Heck, I can get more Skylanders with the money.

People are always bitching about Activision, but they didn't burn me like Disney did.

If you haven't played it get swap force, fantastic skylanders title or trap team, both are just amazing and yeah since they're a few years old you can find them really cheap now.

Yes. I played both Swap Force and Trap Team. Both are excellent games. I kick myself in the @ss for trading in all my figures. But I put all that money towards Lego Dimensions, which is also an excellent game. I was done with Skylanders and was just going to play Infinity and Dimensions but now it's going to be Skylanders and Lego instead because of Disney's broken promises.

Trigger Happy is sticking his tongue out at you Disney.

Just make sure you do your research first. An excellent online resource is SCL. Skylanders Characters List. If you are planning to try one of the older games remember all the characters are forward compatible only so you don't want to get ones that were made after your version of the game. You can get the Superchargers starter pack at a discounted price and not have to worry about compatibility because it's last year's game and everything out in the wild works with it. Until the new game comes out in October that is.

One bad thing about superchargers though... in all honesty it's the weakest game of the series after possibly the first title. in terms of co op especially those driving sections are just not true co op at all.

And if you are planning to Platinum the game, one of the trophies is locked behind co-op. But I don't think it's anything difficult.

Superchargers actually has a small amount of things that you have to buy compared to some of the other games. You can Platinum the game with only one land, one sea and one sky vehicle and one driver for each. The nightmare difficulty setting will kill a lot of the little monsters though, so having extra characters on hand doesn't hurt.

The thing I always loved about the character design of Skylanders is how the monsters look like some of Ed Roth's muscle car monsters from the 1960's. Yes, I'm showing my age.
