Forums - Microsoft - Xbox One S Supports 4K Gaming Upscaling, MS Confirms

Yay... what?

it's kind of stupid to even ask, what's the difference? the TV has to scale any input to fill its screen... the XB1 already upscales it's sub 1080p to 1080p, I don't even know why this is a buzz word so you'll get a 900p image upscaled to a 1080p grid then re-upscaled to 4k? that sounds horrendous... et best it will make no difference from what the XB1 does right now.

read perma explanation... depending on your TV you may gain on quality of image and will gain for certain on input LAG

Gonna need to get a 4ktv soon, not for the Xbox One S though, for the Scorpio.

Samsies. Might be buying one this week.

You'd have better luck in gaming with an 810C Bravia. Samsungs will start generating artifacts if it starts moving too fast.

If you include indies then yes but most triple A are 900p or dynamic resolution ( a bit over 900p).

If this were 2013 or 2014, sure.

but you didn't say current games though. sure, there are more games at 1080p on xb1 for the last 2 years but there were also a lot of 900p games as well.  so yeah, it has improve compare to 2013 and 2014 but your initial statement about most games are 1080p is wrong.  majority of games (in total) are 900p (or dynamic resolution) without including indies..

No they aren't. You.onlynhear about the "AAA" games that aren't 1080p :)

Most are 1080p.
